Description:

There are several different book related 'holidays' each month, so rather than doing individual swaps, I'm going to post the list that I've found online (if you know of others, please share!) and you can choose at least one of the topics for the swap. Let's see if this works!

This swap is International and is a type 2, snail mail swap. If anyone would like to do this swap as an EMAIL swap, please send me a PM and I'll be happy to set it up!

The month of February has several topics and observations/book holidays. According to Calendar of Book Related Holidays, the month of February includes: (HP = Harry Potter books)

National Library Lovers Month

First week of February: Children’s Authors and Illustrators Week

6: Athur Weasley Birthday (HP)

7: Charles Dickens Birthday (1812); Laura Ingalls Wilder Birthday (1867)

11: Mo Willems Birthday (1968)

12: Judy Blume Birthday (1938)

13: Luna Lovegood Birthday (HP)

14: Library Lovers Day

Second week of February: Freelance Writers Appreciation Week

27: John Steinbeck Jr. Birthday (1902)

I'm sure there are more, and if you know of any other observations or holidays related to book, authors, writing for the month, please let me know and I'll edit the list.

The choice is yours - and the interpretation is up to you as well. And, the swap is Sender's Choice as well, as it is something you will read/write/create and share.

So what is THE SWAP? Choose something from the list above and read/write/create something related to the topic and share it with your partner. This swap is REALLY up to your own opinions!

For Example: Judy Blume's birthday is Feb 12. So, I might read - or listen to - one of her books (she has books for middle grades, YA, and adults, as well as some collections of essays), or a book related to her - for example, the book, Everything I Needed to Know about Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume. So, I find the book and read it. Then I can either share my thoughts about the book, something I learned from reading Judy Blume as a child, or I could create art - sketch, collage, paint, etc ... - something relating to the book and send it to my partner. When reading/viewing what I sent, my partner should be able to see:

what topic I chose

what I read/reviewed

This is a VERY OPEN swap. I understand that it might be tough to rate a swap like this, so you might get some original artwork, or you might get a book review. Or anything in between.

Also, please be sure the swap title and your Swap Bot ID are somewhere on the swap! More than just writing it on the envelope, because sometimes the postmarks and shipping cover up a lot of the envelope.

Please! if you have ANY questions, Please PM ME! This is a work in progress, so I may not have fully explained something. If you aren't sure, please just ask me and I'll clarify and edit the swap.

and, if anyone would like to do an email version of this swap, please let me know! If you're not sure what your country's postal system is going to be doing, it might be best to do this as an email swap, and I'm fine with setting that up. (I'm thinking that for that option, artwork can be scanned or photographed and attached to an email).

If you have any ideas, suggestions or question, Please Ask! :) Hopefully, this will be a lot of fun! :)
