Description:

Midsummer or Litha marks the summer solstice and is a celebration in Pagan traditions. Many people celebrate the solstice for different reasons and in different ways. But food is always a part of a celebration, right? :) So for this swap, let's share some recipes for foods we make for summer solstice celebrations. You don't have to gather with a large group of people, it can even be a solitary meal you prepare for yourself or your family. Midsummer for 2021 is June 18-20

Every celebration has it's own themes, colors and foods. Midsummer is all about celebration of summer. Choose recipes using foods that are fresh and growing at this time of year. Think of items you buy or grow fresh rather than relying on preserved or frozen items. Think of building a fresh salad with items from your farmer's market, for example.

You don't need to be a practicing Pagan to join this swap. But, if you do follow a Pagan path and would like to do more swaps like this, please check out the Pagan Community Centre group here on swap-bot. :)

For this International swap you will have 1 partner and should send your partner at least 2 recipes that you make as part of your Midsummer celebration. These should be tried and true recipes, focusing around fresh items or symbolic foods for Midsummer.

This swap is EMAIL and you should send your partner an EMAIL. Please do not send links to your partner (some don't like to click links.) Please use the subject line: swap-bot: Litha/Midsummer recipes so your partner can easily find and rate the swap. :)

Recipes do not need to follow your partner's diet or allergy guidelines - these are tried and true recipes, so it could be difficult to find such recipe that adheres to another's dietary needs and guidelines. Consider checking your partner's profile to see if they have restrictions or allergies on their profile and sending a recipe if you can, but it is not a requirement for the swap.

Please be ready to send as soon as partners are assigned. This is a quick turn around swap so your partner can hopefully try it out and add it to their Midsummer menu.

Who can join? This swap is International and open to everyone world wide. However, your rating should not be below 4.98. If you have 1's or 3's on your ratings, they need to be resolved as much as possible, and you need to have commented to the ratings. It helps hosts and swappers to see you are aware of the ratings, and how you have attempted to resolve the issue.

You must have a well filled out profile! You should have information about your likes & dislikes, interests and pictures don't count for information. No late swaps on your dash.

Make sure the email address listed with your mailing address is correct so you will get the email!

I try to assign partners the day following end of sign up, by noon (Pacific time in the USA). I try to vet swappers as they sign up and will contact you if I have a question about your profile. If I send a message, I do expect a reply before sign up ends. I leave comments if I ban a swapper from my swaps.

Please remember to rate your partner! :)

If you have any questions or comments please send me a PM directly as I don't check the comments under the swap as often.

And please consider checking out the Pagan Community Centre group!
