So the ATCs are each to be photos we have taken, either altered or original on an ATC back? Do they have to be printed on photo paper (in case of altered photos)?

I'm not going to be a stickler about whether it's your actual photography, but it needs to be something legal for you to use and preferably something that will tell us a little bit about yourself! :)) I use shiny brochure paper then add a backing that my info is on. I hope that answers your questions!

I've also used photo paper with my info on sticker the back. Send what you would like to receive. We are all at different levels of experience.

Forgive my ATC ignorance, but what are the dimensions of the finished ATC?

Thanks to @zenithjade who came thru with 7 ATC's the theme of this series for me to use to make up for the 9 atc's I needed to angel from no-sends/flakes. SO APPRECIATED! :)
