USA only, 1 partner, flat mail/ cost of one stamp

Years back, I discovered [Clara's Kitchen cooking channel on You Tube](https://www.youtube.com @GreatDepressionCooking

It helped me remember some of the good food I grew up with, taught me some new things, and helped me come up with meals during shortage times during the pandemic. Now Clara's family have created a book of her story and her recipes, which I just finished reading, and really loved! I thought it would be fun to turn this into a swap, and help us all find some Depression Era recipes that are still good, quick, low cost, that we can make today!

For this swap, you will have 1 partner, and you will send your partner 3 recipes that fit the description below, and are TRIED AND TRUE by you! Recipes can be neatly handwritten or typed - sender's choice! Recipes DO NOT need to conform to partner's dietary needs or choices. If you know of good substitutions, feel free to include them. But sender is not required to send recipes to partner's needs or choices.

Recipes can be for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, snacks - sender's choice. Since these should be recipes that you have tried and know work out well, you might not have recipes that fit the description and fit into categories.

So what is the description of Depression Era Cooking? During the Depression, cooks often needed to make substitutions, they needed fewer processed foods so you will want to look for something fresh or something canned or frozen without sauces, etc. You will need to find ways to use all of the food, so very much like cook once, and turn the leftovers into new foods for the rest of the week, you will cut down on the portion size of meats, you will look for found foods to cook and eat (even if you need to BUY the mushrooms because you can't forage) - such as dandelion greens, mushrooms, nuts, etc. Check out THIS Taste of Home article for more ideas

OK, For the swap you are sending your partner a minimum of 3 recipes that fit the Depression Era ideas above or from the Clara's Kitchen You Tube channel (or book). You must only send recipes you have cooked and that work. DO NOT just print off 3 recipes from the links I've included above! If you know substitutions for ingredients, please include those for your partner to try out, but you are not required to send recipes to your partner's dietary needs/choices.

IF you don't have 3 tried and true recipes, but are interested in this swap, check out the links and try out some things before you sign up. Or maybe by looking through the recipes you'll realize something you do make or you grew up with are depression era recipes! I was surprised to see how many recipes I recognized as I watched and researched some of these foods. But be sure you have at least 3 recipes that fit the requirements before you sign up!

Include with the recipes:

Swap title Swap Bot ID A note telling your partner how or where you first found these recipes. (Example: Something your family made often, something you found online, etc...)
