Description:

I hosted this swap in another group in 2010!

This is NOT a swap with ephemera-filled envies, but a swap with envies MADE OF ephemera! We'll make 5 different envelopes for 1 partner. Sounds easy enough...BUT the envelopes must be made of anything EXCEPT for regular paper or scrap-booking papers.

Again, NO plain printer paper, notebook paper or scrapbooking papers (though you can use any of these as lining). Get creative! Add to the envelopes (think mixed media address labels or other ephemera), to make them one-of-a-kind! (Please no more than 5 stickers total front & back.) You can use anything else that can be folded & sealed like an envie, such as:

• wrapping paper

• food boxes or packaging

• handmade paper (the real thick/textured kind)

• book pages - especially foreign or vintage!

• maps

• wrapping paper, as long as it's reinforced and can be sent in the mail

• decorative shopping bags - even from the grocery store corrugated cardboard

• newspapers or magazines, as long as they're lined or reinforced somehow

• ribbon, deco tapes, duck tape, paper tape - as long as you cover the entire envelope if you do this, the original envie can be made of anything because you won’t see it - as long as it’s sturdy enough for your partner to use

• fabric paper or ledger paper

• printed posters

• anything else out of the ordinary that you can think of!

Please put adhesive or some sort of tape so the envelopes can be sealed. If anyone thinks of other ephemera that would make a good envelope, comment below & I’lll edit the swap. No maximum size, but no smaller than 3”x5” as long as they're mailable. They can be all different sizes if you want, depending on your stash!

I will be sending each participant 2 extra ephemera envies! So that's like having 2 partners for the price of 1 = more Happy Mail!

Since it depends on the sender's imagination, I'm giving more time to sign-up (in case you have other swaps to complete first & you can start anytime) and only a week to send. I'm always pretty flexible about extending the send-date, so we'll see how it goes. Usual swap rules apply; open to group members in good standing with no 1's, 3's or no-sends in the last 6 months and must have some recent swaps completed & rated. PM me with any questions.
