Description:

For this swap, we will send our partner at least 10 different pieces of VINTAGE ephemera AND 4 different pieces of other ephemera (can be vintage or new for a total of 14 (or more) pieces. For the purpose of this swap, vintage is anything from 1979 or earlier. I always suggest reading your partners profile and try to send things from their likes!

Any of the following count as 1 piece, but remember they must all be differnt types of ephemera -

  • book or ledger pages
  • magazine ads - VINTAGE only
  • tickets/stubs from places or rides, not drawings
  • vintage photographs
  • maps or map pieces, at least 6 inches by 6 inches (okay to fold)
  • postage stamps, vintage, new or postmarked (4 counts as 1 item)
  • labels, not torn but they can be worn if used
  • vintage letters, deeds, stickers, playing cards, game pieces
  • old keys, charms or metal pieces - only if your partner specifies in their profile
  • vintage travel ephemera such as airline tickets, boarding passes, flight menus, etc. from airlines that are no longer in business
  • vintage cookbooks (the small, soft-sided kind) or pages from vintage cookbooks (6 inches by 6 inches minimum)
  • vintage sewing patterns or pieces therof (minimum 6 inches by 6 inches)
  • piece of vintage fabric or wallpaper (5x5 inches minimum)
  • vintage postcards, new or written
  • vintage craft instructions
  • piece of vintage newspaper or magazine page as long as it’s not too tattered/torn
  • vintage matchbook
  • airmail envelopes
  • old postmarked envelopes

What not to send: coins, tickets for drawings, beads, religious items (unless your partners profile states otherwise), tiny, useless pieces of non-vintage paper ephemera (scrapbook paper for instance) or buttons. Please do not send more than 2 of the same piece/item, (for example - 3 postage stamps, UNLESS you are counting it as 1 item). VARIETY is the nature of this swap! You can send other vintage items not listed here as long as they are from different sources.

Because most items will be vintage/old, their condition might be questionable or fragile so please package accordingly. PACKAGING DOES NOT HAVE TO BE VINTAGE, but it can be! Please do not rate down if items look worn/old - this is a vintage ephemera swap. You can be rated down if you do not send at least 13 pieces from different sources or send something (unless its an extra) from the DO NOT SEND list above. I’m calling this a type 2 swap as most items will be flat and there is no craft component. Please PM me if anyone feels that’s incorrect. Usual group rules apply. I will check profiles carefully before assigning partners.

I will send all participants a profile-based surprise! So it's almost like having 2 partners for price of 1!

Send only items you woud like to receive! Please PM me with any questions or more suggestions of possible items to send; I will edit the swap if needed and angel if necessary. I hosted this back in 2010 and it was successful!
