Tea swap # 10

i would like to join but i can only find tea bags that come in boxes, i can't find them indivually. this means they would come with a label or anything. is this ok?

or does anyone in the uk know where i can find tea bags that come indivually wrapped?

I've sent those before but put them in little plastic bags. I've also received them just loose and in little paper envies.

I don't think people mind receiving them, as long as it's not a problem going through customs of different countries.

ok - and just write on the envelope what they are?

we do kava kava tea here(USA), but I recently found out kava kava is illegal in canada. Is it in other places as well?

jennyb, i agree with lulubird6 :) you can send those teabags without them being individually wrapped, but please put them in small plastic bags or envelopes and write on the envelope what´s inside. but if you send tea to australia, please read the note in the instruction of this swap!

lilian, i´ve never heard of kava kava and i didn´t know that any tea has been said to be illegal! so i don´t know if kava kava is illegal in another countries as well. if you wish to send that tea abroad, maybe you should check those custom things but if your swap partners live in the usa, of course you can send also kava kava tea to them :)

ok, so swap-bot has turned me into a more regular tea drinker. with so many interesting choices, it's fun

I've also sent the loose teabags and wrapped them in colorful tissue paper.

Taikuri, Kava Kava is the main ingredient in the tea. It is an herb that has the same effect as valium. It is a tea to relax you (I don't drive after drinking it). Yogi Tea makes it, so it isn't like something we are buying off drug dealers or anything like that. I was shocked when I found out it was illegal in Canada. . .I gave a bag of the tea to a professer who is from Canada and she laughed and told me it is illegal in Canada.

I think I will join the swap, and only send the Kava Kava tea to my US partners.

Kava Kava is illegal in the UK I think - atleast it's illegal for shops to sell, I don't know if it's illegal to possess or go through the mail!

You can join in my tea swap, but before the swap starts, I´ll check if you have joined in more than 5 swaps and ban those newbies, who have participated in more than 5 swaps. In the past some newbies have joined over 50 swaps and then sent none, so this is my way to try to avoid flakers but let nice newbies to join in my swaps :)

would preffer Raspberry tea but not picky - as long as no decaf, no chai, and none of that KavaKava stuff are in my thing, i will be happy. (not being a pickypicky here)

I know it says it doesn't have to be local, but that would be nice, but some of mine aren't even UK-made. I get them from other swaps and if I get doubles, I think it's nice to pass them on :) Is that okay?

JennyB - Twinings sell "Fruit Infusions" boxes with a little thing on the side saying "Individually Wrapped". I pick them up at places like Tesco, though I'm pretty certain Morrisons, Sainsbury etc. sell things like that. Also, I'm sure Tesco sell Pukka Tea and I think, THINK (don't quote me on this!) they come individually wrapped. Hope that helped :)

NOTE -> If you´re sending teabags to Australia, they should be in sealed teabags and the list of ingredients must be mentioned in the bag!

We don't need to list the ingredients on the envelope as well, do we?

Tip :If you have to send a package to Europe please wright the 7 with an extra line in the middle . Offently postmen take the overseas 7 for a 1 !

Lamazon: thanks for reminding me about crossing my seven's! I have two partners in Scandinavia, and I want them to receive their packages. I have received such wonderful things from Swedish and Finnish swappers, I would be just miserable if my package sent to Sweden or Finland was impounded or lost!

Hi Tea Peeps! I'm one of the newbies here and just wanted to give a shout out to my swappees to be on the lookout for their packages. They were shipped today, although one of my swappers is roughly 15 minutes away by car(lol) I still mailed them(giggle).
