I've been off of Swap-bot for a while, but I'm back to host a Pressed Penny swap. Pressed penny machines are often found in tourist spots. All you have to do is place two quarters and one penny (pre-1982 pennies yield best results due to their copper composition) into the machine and crank to your heart's delight! Pressed pennies can be considered a form of "exonumia" (coin-like objects such as token coins and medals, and other items used in place of legal currency or for commemoration). You will have two (2) partners in total and you will send each partner one (1) pressed penny. If you're looking for a penny machine near you, here is a list: http://www.pennycollector.com/AreaList.aspx If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. The small print: (i) I have listed this swap as a REGIONAL (North America) swap, as penny machines are concentrated in North America. If you are an INTERNATIONAL SWAPPER and believe you would be able to comply with the requirements, please contact me via Swapbot form first; (ii) newbies more than welcome, as long as you contact me via swap-bot form first and have a reasonably well-filled out profile; (iii) all others, please have a rating of at least 4.8. If you have concerns with the requirements, please touch base with me and I am sure we can work something out. |
