I promised that I would do this again (Round 1 was back in April/May), so here is the original swap w/ a few changes: Did you know that you can you regular cleaning bleach instead of ink to rubber stamp?? I'm sure that you can find several tutorials online but basically, I just dab a paper towel with bleach (I used Clorox) and then blot (tap) it on the rubber surface of my stamp. Then, simply stamp as "normal" onto solid colored card stock. Let dry and embellish the stamped image into an ATC. * I've personally found better results on non textured cardstock. The end result bleaches the paper making the image itself lighter than the original color of cardstock. I made the example shown for a random ATC swap earlier today and I'm hooked on the technique. You may want to play around with it. Different card stock may respond with different shades. I have some that turned out pretty white and others that are just lighter shades of the original color. I also found that starting with a darker color card stock gave better and more dramatic results. Please be careful using bleach around children or pets and make sure you are in a well ventilated area!! (I got quite a headache, lol) If you are bothered or sensitive to bleach or even the smell of it this is obviously NOT a swap for you!! Will this damage the stamp at all? I know bleach eats a lot of things but I don't know about stamps. Cool idea!

I am wondering the same thing.... Maybe try with an older stamp first?

If you immediately clean the stamp after using it,it should not be damaged. However, you probably want to stick to rubber stamps and not use clear acrylic ones as I'm not sure how that would react...

I have used both acrylic and wooden mounted rubber stamps w/ this technique. Some of them multiple times. As already stated just clean your stamp as you would normally w/ water and your stamp should be fine.

If you're nervous about it -- I would suggest using $ stamps from Michael's or somewhere like that. I've NEVER had a prob. Not even w/ the acrylic blocks. Thanks for joining my swap.

I think the key might be to dab your stamp w/ bleach. Iuse paper towels freshly dipped in bleach -- You are not going soak it totally submerged in a bowl or anything. It does take some playing around with but thats the FUN of it!!

As I read the technique, you put some paper towels on a plate and put a little bleach on the towels. You then treat them as your stamp pad. No submersion of stamps!

Thats the way I do it and I've found it most simple. I'm sure you could search the technique and get tutorials from other websites.
