DOTEE DOLL BOOKMARK

Is this an unstuffed (flat) dotee doll? Or is it a stuffed dotee with a ribbon to use as a marker (or something)? Does the doll need to be a particular size, or is therer a minimum size? Sorry to ask so many questions! I've never heard of a dotee doll bookmark before, but I like the idea :-)

Yes, I wonder those very same questions.... do you have a picture we can see? Otherwise, I'm just not sure how to make a doll into a bookmark...... but interesting idea. I'll watch it for now to see if you answer the questions for a little more details on how to actually make this....

I had to join, two of my favroties things in one! I was just thinking the other day of making one to include as an extra. I would like to see the answer to the questions above. I'm still trying to figure out how to make it.

I just signed up. I think there are a few ways you can do this. I like to free form crocheted dottees. A long braid attached would be fine to mark the place. You could also do a circle of covered elastic to put through the book pages and display the dotee on the front of the book. Any way it is done is sure to be loved and used!

Mammasan, you have a great idea about the elastic circle! Still, I'm hoping the host can answer the questins about what she has in mind.

Poem hasn't signed in since the 4th, so I'm going to watch this one to wait for the answer to the above questions. Though, I like the elastic circle, too. Something like a book thong with a tiny dotee at one end and beads at the other would work, too.

I'm a little nervous about signing up for a swap hosted by someone with very little swap experience, who hasn't signed on in a week even though she is hosting this one, and whose profile doesn;t have much on it. I hope it is an enjoyable swap for everyone else, though. I'm dropping it off my watchlist.

I've done some Dotee bookmark swaps before-- You can see the ones I made here and here. I sewed mine flat and unstuffed with longer than normal tails, so that they would hang out the bottom of a book. I have also seen paper-pieced dotees. Another idea would be a book-thong dotee with a small dotee body and a long tail.

Hi Everyone, I thought I answered the questions.??? You ccan make the bookmark anyway you want. I'm making mine like a rectangle. I going to use either rice or less stuffing so that the doll will lay flat. She, will still have a face but a long tail. I will make it so the face in outside at the top of the bookmark and the tail will be where the beads will be. I'm going to have flat decorations on the doll,too. Do. this help?
