Send me a handmade christmas ornament

You will send one handmade christmas ornament to 1 partner. Each ornament must follow these guidelines:

• You can use any combination of materials you wish (pretty papers, fabric, fibers, buttons, beads, charms, thread, polymer clay, glass, ceramic, wire, etc). If you make a stuffed ornament or one that otherwise requires filling/stuffing; the stuffing must be made from new material.

• the ornament must be between 2 - 5 inches in length (without the hanger) and must include a way to hang it (the hanger not included in the required length). You may either use a short length of ribbon, string, or just attach a loop that can be used to attach a hook at a later date. Please use your best judgement on the width. It is senders choice whether it is 2-d (flat) or 3-dimensional.

• Remember that your ornament may be hung on a christmas tree, so keep weight and size in mind. Otherwise the ornament should be the quality of one you’d like to receive, so please no flimsy paper or paper with stickers only. This is a wonderful chance to show off your skills in a medium of your choice.

• This is an international swap, so you may want to choose what type of ornament you will make (size, weight and materials) accordingly for postage and customs.

• For those of you that like to think in terms of monetary value, figure on creating an ornament that you might see retailed between $7-10 USD (before mailing costs), or use approximately $5 USD worth of materials. If it isn't possible to make one ornament that includes about $5 of materials or you think might sell in a retail setting for $7-10, please send 2 ornaments. If you send more than 2 ornaments, or use more than the above specified dollar amount, this is your choice, please understand that you may only be receiving one ornament in return that meets the above described.

• Please take your partner's taste into consideration - ie, if they don't like a certain color, don't use it. Please do not send religious inspired ornaments unless your partner specifically states they like them. Look to their profile for consideration/inspiration and please be sensitive to allergies, favorites and dislikes. By signing up for this swap, you are agreeing to send/receive an ornament that contains christmas themes (aside from religion, if you choose not to), so please no requests against something iconic for christmas for example: nothing red and/or green, no snowmen, no santas, no christmas trees, no stockings, etc).

• Use care when packaging your ornament to insure it arrives safely, send it in a bubble mailer or otherwise protect it from getting broken or damaged, especially if it includes delicate materials.

Don't forget to include a note that has your swap-bot handle and the name of the swap, and you may wish to tell your partner about the materials you used, or a story behind why you created the ornament, though the additional information is not a requirement.

Please rate once you receive your ornament, and do so as fairly as you can. Please do not rate based on whether or not you like the ornament, but instead that it meets requirements.It is appreciated that you rate once you received your ornament, and to do so as fairly as you can. Everyone relies on these ratings to join other swaps and groups.

Ratings should go like this:

a 5: for meeting the requirements of having mailed (1, or possible 2) handmade ornament(s) of the specified value, and having done so in a timely fashion.

a 3: for having sent the ornament but it doesn't meet the specified requirements.

a 1: for not sending an ornament

Who may join this swap:

Newbies are welcome with a well-filled out profile, and with atleast 3, rated 5, type 2 or 3 swaps. If you have less than 3 or no rated swaps, please message me if you are interested in the swap we will try to work it out, you must send me a message to show committment to the swap, and also have logged in to Swap-bot within seven (7) days of the sign-up/ drop date. Exceptions will be made at my discretion. All others must have a minimum overall rating of a 4.9 with no unexplainable or recent (within the last 6 months) ones or threes. PM me if you do have 1’s or 3’s and would like to explain, exceptions may be made at my discretion.

If you do not think you can deliver your swap items in a timely fashion, please do not join this swap (ie, don’t flake). There is a reasonable amount of time between the sign up/drop date and mail-by date to mail your item. It is expected that you will mark "sent" after you send your item, and if you think you will be late in sending, it is your responsibility to contact your partner to let them know (and a message to me is appreciated as well), and subsequently, up to them to decide how to rate you. Flakers will be reported in appropriate forums, and not permitted to join in future swaps I host. I reserve the right to remove any swapper that I believe will not deliver swapped items, at my discretion.
