Description:

(It's back! And this time it's staying!)

Write a mini-zine about something crafty! It could be

  • a project
  • pics of stuff you've made with notes on how you made them
  • a story about some of the things you have learned through your crafting experiences
  • anything else you like

Whatever kind of craftiness speaks to you – share!

This does not have to be a 'traditional' mini-zine (e.g. 8 mini pages folded down from 1 A4/letter-size page) but it can be, if you like. It should have at least 8 mini pages, but can be slightly bigger (up to A6/quarter-size), or smaller but with more pages, and you can use whatever kind of binding you prefer. Click here for a few different suggestions on putting your zine together, page-numbering etc. (If you don't know what a zine is, click here instead, for a full explanation.)

Then it's up to you whether you hand-write (then photocopy), or type & print your mini-masterpiece. The format is small, but the creative possibilities are as big as your imagination!

3 partners = 3 mini zines sent & 3 mini zines received.

(Mini Zine of Craftiness # 3 will be here in the New Year.)

This is a group swap for members of Zines, Mail Art & other cool stuff. I've checked people's ratings as they've joined the group, but I will check through again before partners are assigned, to do my best to avoid disappointment in this swap. Please only sign up if you have both the time & inclination to complete the swap!

sooooo....I notice you refer a lot to writing and typing. Are minizines mostly filled with words, in your opinion?

I am new at sharing my minizines and I am a very visual person hence my zines tend to be full of drawings and visual stuff. If you would please answer me, I'd like to know what other peoples frame of reference is. :)

No not at all. Admittedly my own zines are very writing-based, because even though I'm crafty, I'm also very wordy!
Likewise, I say typing because I type my own zines on the pc, but lots of people hand-write their zines, or use cut-and-paste, collage etc.

The remit is open. So long as the theme of your zine is crafty, it can be mostly artwork, mostly words, or any mix somewhere inbetween of the 2. And you can type, or hand-write or stencil your text, whatever is comfortable to you!

Basically, write/create whatever zine you want to, so long as the theme is crafty :-).
