I am SOOO in!! Love this idea!! Wish I had thought of it!!

alicepalace 06/18/2007 #

Please no 4th of July stuff for me, unless it's kinda unobviously 4th of July. It doesn't translate to well to non-US countries... :)

jay 06/18/2007 #

i would rather not have harry potter, fourth of july or clowns (but other circus stuff is fine) :) sounds like a really fun swap.x

BettyTurbo 06/18/2007 #

yay! that is so awesome that you put P.T. Barnum's birthday on there. i am a little freaked out by clowns but almost everything else on this list is high on my list of favorites :)

missychrissy 06/18/2007 #

Being a Brit, I've never seen an Amigurumi - are there any web links I can look at please? Sounds a fun swap though.

earthnk 06/18/2007 #

Could someone explain what a stuffie or Amigurumi is, please and thanks Kaye

This link has many links to crochet patterns for amigurumis.

This is a link to some of my amigurumis.

Stuffies are little sewn items that are stuffed- like little stuffed animals/dolls.

oooo! Lookie! Patterns for the adorable creations!!!

Windchimes 06/19/2007 #

I collect teddy bears and aliens so either of those would be wonderful! No 4th of July stuff though - that just isn't my thing. I am also not into Harry Potter at all so that wouldn't be the best choice. I would love a bear or creature and of course, as I think anyone who knows me knows, my favorite color is pink (light powder pink). One kind of clown I love is Pierrot - the french ones with the baggy french outfits and the white faces with a tear - I think other clowns are just a bunch of... clowns. LOL

krisssssyyyyyyyyyyy 06/19/2007 #

Hi :) Just love this swap, please no Fourth of July - Uncle Sam, eagle, red/white/blue. I live in Canada so really not something I'm into thanks :)

GiddyUpSoldier 06/19/2007 #

Does it have to be crocheted or can it be fabric and sewn?

missychrissy 06/19/2007 #

Thanks for all the links, I just love some of those little animals! Unfortunately I don't crochet and haven't sewn for years. I did once make some knitted dinosaurs though.

rengawk 06/19/2007 #

Squee! I'm totally into amigurumi lately, so my partner will probably be getting an yarn creation! I'm more of a critter/object fan rather than 'people' for stuffed crafts - thanks so much!

user7698 06/20/2007 #

CaptainGiddyUp, it can be crocheted, knitted or it can be fabric and sewn.

Whatever of the three you want to do.

I would REALLY love to receive something from the seafood festival. I'm feeling a little homesick for Hawaii now that summer's here.

But if all else fails, please no fourth of july things.

wendyswoolies 06/24/2007 #

I've only just learnt to crochet - having been a knitter for years - and have seen a few amigurumi patterns around and been intrigued so looking forward to trying one out. As for what I'd like to receive? I really don't mind to be honest...

Babsmomof5 06/24/2007 #

Please NO clowns. Circus animals are fine, but Clowns, jesters, and hand puppets really freak me out. I would love absolutely anything else!

CADLady 06/25/2007 #

I wouldn't presume to tell anyone what NOT to make. :)

girlontherocks 06/25/2007 #

I'd love to join, but I have a suggestion... I like to try and cater to my partner's interests and not make the item unitl I see what it is that they like. There is only 1 week between getting our partners and the mail date. That is not very long when making something by hand!

Is there any chance of extending it? Or making the add/drop date earlier?

maepress77 06/26/2007 #

I agree with Karrie, I too would love to join but it isn't much time to make something if our partner has preferences.

saalis 06/28/2007 #

This is going to be fun!

No Fourth of July or Teddies, please. I'd love any other theme from the list. :)

kateyb 06/28/2007 #

fun! im learning how to sew & have made about 6 stuffies already for other swaps so i can still get some practicing in for this one! and, ooh, im going to be picky!! (i hope my partner doesnt hate me for this, but im thanking you BIG TIME in advance!) id LOVE to have a little nautilus or a shrimp made :)

user7698 06/28/2007 #

The sign up date is June 30th and you don't have to send out until August 5th. You have the whole month of July to make the item to send out.

patabear 06/28/2007 #

oh wow, the list has all my favorites! I love circuses, seafood, ice cream, and well... EVERYTHING!!!

My least favorite is the Fourth of July theme. Love fireworks and stuff, but it pales to the other wonderful themes listed.

user7385 06/30/2007 #

i would rather not have fourth of july or harry potter themed stuff, please.

ElectricDaisy 06/30/2007 #

Please no Harry Potter. If I could pick I'd sure like a monkey (don't monkeys go to the circus?) I've been collecting them for my baby boy. Thank you! :D

sewandsew 07/ 1/2007 #

I'm also not a big fan of 4th of July. I'm Canadian and it's just not my holiday. I do however live near the ocean and love all things water, but I'm open to surprises.

user9255 07/ 1/2007 #

I'm happy with anything! ha. Im pretty easy to please.

ElectricDaisy 07/ 5/2007 #

Your sea food festival creature is leaving the country on Monday. Forgot to add a note, but the plushie package from Finland is for this swap. :)

user9255 07/15/2007 #

Yay!!! thank you so much saalis, i'm terribly excited to get that in the mail.

user9255 07/16/2007 #

Kris-- I just finished making your owl.. he isn't very pretty (just because i forgot a neck. do owls even have necks? i think he looks funny without one, but everything else looks pretty owl-ish.) but i'll send something extra to make up for that lack of beauty. ;) post office is closed, and i will send it first thing tomorrow.

user9255 07/23/2007 #

took a while to send, kris, but its officially on its way!

FairySweet 07/24/2007 #
