Crock-Pot E-Swap

I have one that I would love to share also my brother is learning to cook for himself and two young kids so he needs all the help he can get

Love crockpot cooking but I prefer to do recipe card swaps as opposed to email swaps. Something about someone handwriting a recipe and sending it to me...just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!

I love crock pots ... although mine took a dump and I need to get a new one. Maybe Santa will bring me one!! I always love new recipes for them!!

I can't figure this thing out. To all who sent me an e-mail with a recipe, I sent something back. I hope you all got it. It was the corned beef and cabbage recipe. Happy holidays!

Corn Beef and Cabbage in Crockpot

4-5 lbs. corn beef Boil in water and dump the scum. Return to boil and dump scum, repeat again if necessary. Then remove from the pot, put on a plate. Trim fat pad off the back. Return to pot.

In crock pot:: 10-15 small red potatoes that have been washed. Can leave whole. Just use enough potatoes to cover the bottom of the pot. Add corn beef on top. Add 1/2 strength apple juice and 1/2 water (1:1 mix) and 1/2 cup brown sugar until corn beef is covered with liquid completely. Add two cloves or add the seasoning that may come with the corn beef. Add two teaspoons of pepper if seasoning didn't come with corn beef (or pepper to taste). Small head of cabbage quartered and eighth until small enough to fit into crock pot but can still get the lid on firmly.

Cook on high for 5-6 hours until potatoes are done. Cabbage will steam on top. Do not mix altogether because cabbage will break apart and get too soggy. You can add a few small carrots (or cut up) and a stalk or two of celery for flavor.

It is absolutely delicious.
