Description:

This will be a fun art Quilt swap.

Each person will make 6 squares 4inchesx4inches. Each person will have 6 people to send to. So thats one square per partner.

~~The squares must be exactly 4x4inches Squares!~~

Measure, Measure, Measure.

On these squares you will do what ever kind of art you want. You can use any materials you like but the base material must be fabric because when you receve all of your squares you can sew them together and have a nice art quilt to hang on the wall. Squares that cannot be sew together with the other squares will no meet the requirements. Please use your best workmanship!

You can paint, draw, cross stitch, bead anything you want. Just make sure that there is alittle room for your partner to sew around the edges when they get them. Please try to leave about a 1/2 inch all the way round clear of embellishment for finishing and binding. This is just the top of the block not the batting and a lower piece.

I know 6 parnters may seem like to much but you should be able to send the squares in a regular enve unless you make it really bulky. So have fun and express your inner artist!

You must have a rateing of 4.9 or higher. No no sends and no ones.

Oh and this is not a profile swap so you can start to make your squares as soon as you sign up.

Now lets get creative!!

This does sound like fun, But based upon the types of blocks I have seen some people make could this swap have some stricter requirements. Can you state that the squares must be exactly 6 x6 square and no other shape. It is not a beginners projects. Squares that cannot be sew together with the other squares will no meet the requirements. Use your best workmanship If you must rip out a seam do not leave remmants of thread or holes in the block. If the edges are not meeting do not just scruch them together to make them meet. Measure, Measure, Measure.

Do you want the edges unfinished? Should each person leave a 1/2 inch all the way round clear of embellishment for finishing and binding?

Are we just making the top of the block or should it be the quilt sandwich an upper piece, batting and a lower piece?

Ok, I will add that it must be exactley 4x4 square. I know you said 6x6 in your comment but I kinda hate to change the size because someone has already signed up and they may not like that. I think having the edges unfinished should be fine because we will be sewing them together ourselves. And this is just for the top of the block not the whole quilt sandwich. That way people can really do whatever they want with the squares when they get them. Hope this helps.

can art or pictures that are printed on white fabric squares be used as long as they are embellished? i don't draw them, they are like transfers i guess you'd call it. they are really pretty and i've actually done the printing myself onto the fabric squares. then i embellish them with beads, fabric paints, trims etc. thanks.

Slewis234-Thats sounds good to me. Everyones idea of art is different. As long as you try is what matters.
