Description:

I was skimming through swaps, and found this one. Its an idea I actually had, but wanted to give @Karen credit for it since a similar one has been done before. For this swap you will be buying/creating a journal or a nice spiral notebook (5 inches X 7 inches minimum size and at least 60 pages) and making at LEAST 20 entries.I myself and planning on making a paper bag journal,so you can get as creative as you want. Each participant will choose ONE of the topics I've listed below, and will do a study of that subject in their Bible. You will find at least18- 20 Bible verses on your chosen topic, and make an entry in your journal/notebook, including that verse, its location, and at least 75-100 words on what that verse tells you or means to you. More verses and longer entries would be great - these are just guidelines to start from. Entries can be handwritten or typed, and if you are one of those talented people who want to make your own journal with embellishments, etc., feel free to do so rather than buying one.

You will have 1 month to complete your journal and I'll add a few days to that to allow time to mail it to your partner. I'm making this swap INTERNATIONAL so you might want to keep that in mind when picking out the journal or notebook you will use.

Here's the subjects you may choose from:

1.

  Hope

2.

  Peace

3.

  Love

4.

  The Miracles of Jesus

5.

  Women of the Bible

6.

  Faith

7.

  Angels

You can use whatever version of the Holy Bible you prefer. If you want to participate and don't own a Bible, there are many on-line. Okay, so that's 1 journal with at least 20 entries, to 1 partner, and 30 days to do it. You will receive a journal from another participant with at least 20 entries on the subject they have chosen.

. If you want to include extras, some stickers or a bookmark or something like that would be great to include.

You must have a 4.9 or above rating, and at least 10 snail mail swaps completed and rated to participate. If you have any questions, please contact me. This will be a monthly swap for as long as I can keep it going. I hope it will be sucessful, and if you have any ideas for future rounds of this swap, please pm me.

the journal itself does not have to have 60 pages, if you ARE MAKING ONE, YOU CAN MAKE IT SMALLER =)

LOVE IT! I am SO in! LOVE IT!!!

Can you please explain why a bought notebook must have at least 60 pages but a hand-made one need only have 20?

Thank you.

The amt of pages isnt really important since you r only required to do 20 entries.20 entries equals about 20 pages. Thats why I said that just as a guideline.hope that makes sense

I'm going to join the swap when it gets closer to the sign up date. Just in the event something comes up in life. I am determined to do this swap though. I love the idea.

I am also curious, you said you were making a brown bag journal. What is that? I am new to the art world. I've made a journal before. LOLOL Only one, it is huge. Yours has intrigued me.

Wow thank you for the link. That is a very pretty and wonderful idea. I love it. Who ever gets your journal is sure to get a prize.

This may seem like a silly question, but might I use the Torah (Old testament)?

GenjiPomf 12/31/2009 #

Actually, I'm not participating as I'm new, but in the future I'm hoping there will be swaps just like this and would like to know for my own information. Thanks!!

I got started today, and am soo excited! To whomever is my partner: I would much prefer a smaller notebook that I can stick in my bible for quick reference, but I will be happy with whatever you decide to send...............
