Description:

I'm hosting a similar project in a group, and thought I would try hosting outside of a group setting. I hope you will join in on this fun collaged ATC project.

Take a piece of cardstock (any color, roughly 4" x 5") and randomly adhere all sorts of different papers to it, overlapping the edges as you go (your papers can be decorative, printed with words, plain, sparkly, etc.). The idea here is not to worry about planning – just have fun with random papers. After you have completed this step, turn the cardstock over so you can't see the covered side. Draw a heart on it, roughly 2" high (see note below). Cut out the heart. Now, turn it over and see how pretty it looks with the collaged papers you chose. It's kind of like a surprise – you never know what you're going to get. Now, take this pretty heart and use it to make an ATC for your partner. NOTE: You could even choose to cut out two smaller hearts and use those on the ATC.

You will be sending 1 ATC to 1 partner.

Newbies are welcome with a well filled out profile. Others must have a 4.9 or better rating to join. I reserve the right to ban those that I think may flake. Have fun!

This technique is called 'serendipity', by the way. :O)

Thanks, Peacewytch, for letting me know that. I never knew that, but I just looked it up on the web and sure enough, there it was. So much for my long-winded swap description. LOL.

Only one? My hearts are so cute - I want to make more!!!

Zooey, I know what you mean. I made mine last night and collaged a 5x7 piece of paper. I ended up with about 5 hearts and made several cards and an ATC.

You can always make more and make them into cards and send to your friends - to brighten their day!

This card actually turned out kind of cute. I hope my partner will like it!! :o) ~Leigh~

My heart looks like it's from the 80's!

I just finished making a bunch of hearts, and they all turned out awesome! :]]

This was fun! I never knew that technique was called serendipity either!

I glad you are having fun with these serendipity hearts!

Too bad I didn't found this swap in time! I did this for a swap last year and I made 9 ATC's when I needed just 2! So if you make more and want to swap with me, just PM me. There's a link to my ATC's at the bottom of my profile.
