1st Day of School Swap

This is similar to another swap going on now, but is really meant to be geared toward the first day of school. Some of us have children starting school for the very first time or at a new school this year. Send your partner something appropriate, like school supplies, for their young kids (or themselves if no kids) for a 1st day of school and possibly something the parent might appreciate on the first day as well (the parent gift is optional).

Some ideas on what to send:

--For the Kids: School supplies including notebooks, paper, construction paper, pencils, pens, erasers, crayons, supply storage containers, bags, glue, tape (that's popular in our house).

--Something to calm the parent's nerves after the arduous task of dropping their child off for the first day of school. This can be tea, a scented candle or comfort food item (store bought is usually preferred).

--Something to remember the day, perhaps a frame for a first day of school photo, an inspirational card, poem or book about changes, new adventures, growing up, etc. or maybe a blank journal to write their own thoughts.

Whatever you send, the cost should be a minimum of $10 (not including shipping), but you can spend as much as you want. You can participate even if you don't have kids if you're okay receiving and sending any of these sorts of items.

This is a US-only swap to keep shipping costs down and delivery times fast.

Rule number one of everything you need to know, you learned in Kindergarten: Please don't sign up if you don't play fair. Coordinator may ban people with too no-sends. We'll see how it goes.

End Signup Date: August 4 (Come back here just after that date to get your partner's name and address.) Send By Date: August 15 (but you can send as soon as you receive your partner)
