~THESE ARE CROCHET AIMED STITCH MARKERS~

You will make 5 stitch marker's for 2 partner's. Just be creative and have fun! You will have 2 weeks to make your stitch marker's and send them. SAT AUG 11 will be the last and FINAL day to send. WARNING: Making stitch marker's can be very addictive! Consider your self warned!

~Hostess Business~

You CAN NOT PARTICIPATE UNLESS YOU CONTACT ME in this swap if you have any no sends. PERIOD. Many of us have been in swaps that weren't fulfilled....It sucks. Do not do this to someone.
Do not send something that you would not like to receive. SIMPLE!
PLEASE RATE HIGH, even if you don't happen to like the item. If you received 5 stitch marker's, your partner fulfilled their obligation.
HEART when due. In this case, if you receive more than 5 stitch marker's, or anything extra, heart your partner!

Can you tell me/us how crochet specific stitch markers are made? I've made many knit stitch markers but none for crochet. Even a swap pic would be helpful.

edlefevre 07/19/2007 #

BethAnne- there really isn't any difference- as long as you can slip the marker in and out of a completed stitch, it will work.

Sallenlouise 07/19/2007 #

BethAnne, Hi! I'm used to my knit stitch markers that are circles, they sit on the needles. My crochet stitch marker's are clasp that I can close and open around the particular stitch. Let me get a pic uploaded!

Sallenlouise 07/19/2007 #

for some reason it wont let me upload a pic....I will get back with you!

Yeah!!! I'm in! I LOVE making stitch markers!!!! :)

for crochet stitch markers, here are a few examples I found:

http://www.yarntomato.com/blog/2006/06/crochet-stitch-markers.html http://www.etsy.com/viewlisting.php?listingid=6488431 http://www.heidipetachdesigns.com/StM_crochet.htm

I usually either use earring hooks or lobster clasps for crochet.

Hi I've never done this before but have wanted to since joining swap bot and seeing others sending out swaps with them. They are so neat looking and better than the little plastic circles I have lol. So If I'm allowed to stay you can guarentee I'm all for it. Even to make myself some lol.

Sallenlouise 07/26/2007 #

Heathers,we are glad to have you!! I hate the little circles... These are really fun to make. I ummm...just needed to make a set, and ended up going out and spending lot's of $$$ on beads.....hmmmmm! lol

I'm glad you guys are all apart of the swap!

Craftlover10101 08/ 3/2007 #

Ok I got one set done woohoo lol. Now for the second set lol. This has been a learning experience lol. I'm glad I joined. HeatherS

Craftlover10101 08/ 4/2007 #

Ok it's me again. I finally finished the second set. Now I want my partners to cretique these things. I had my husband, kids and some other friends online look at them. I am very picky about doing things but I don't have everything I need. So when cash allows I have to go get one of those pliers with the rounded noses to make the wire wrap write into a perfect little circle. Well I would like your opinion. So tomorrow I will spend the day looking at profiles and start packing these up and making sure they stay safe for their trip. lol Hugs Heather, ps. I had a great time. Thank you Sallenlouise for letting me join. This was a swap I'd love to do again. So keep me in mind for the next one. pretty please

Craftlover10101 08/10/2007 #

Hi ladies, I am heading out to my sisters today. I am going to get your things in the mail today on the way out. Please let me know when they arrive.

Craftlover10101 08/18/2007 #

Well I have to complain a bit. I still need to talk with my other partner. But I received both swaps and both of them required postage due and both .17 cents. Ya'll really need to go to the post office or put an extra stamp on this to be sure your partner gets things without a hassel. Now I am out .34 I made very nice stitch markers with real crystals on them, and took very good care to pack them securely and make sure they matched my partners color likes etc. I have not opened this set that I just received. I shouldn't have to pay for a swap. It's not fare to me or anyone else. I've paid out so much for swaps being received and having postage due.
I'm sorry but i'm just a little pissed. The first partner figures she sent a little extra item so that should counter for the extra cost of the shipping and call it even.
I'm calling it a loss all the way around.
