this is open to newbies, new bloggers, everyone is welcome, but you must go visit all the blogs you are assigned to visit and comment on. People who do not follow through should still receive ratings to match!

also, a new thought-please please make sure you do not start until partners are assigned. I know it is tempting to just start leaving comments for the others, but we don't know how many swappers we will have yet, so if you start leaving comments now, and then end up with 20 different blogs to comment on....well it could get a bit confusing!

Since everyone here has a wordpress blog, and most are probably hosted by wordpress, I just want to give you guys a heads up on what I found tonight. If you use any tags that are common interests, or city names, and have used those recently, please please please run those pages through copyscape.com and make sure they are not showing up on these awful websites that are copying blog entries from wordpress based on tags. To prevent help prevent this because I believe they are getting it from RSS feeds, go to Settings - Reading and set your feed to summary. I've reported the two I found (http://abc.aqimg.com and http://citysquirt.com if you'd like to see the awful things) to Google Adsense for DMCA violation, so hopefully that will REALLY help things out...not supposed to be making money off material that doesn't belong to you, so classy.

well it looks like i lost my blog because i had what they deemed too many affiliate links and so therefore i was a spammer :( so much for a homeschool mom trying to share her experience and maybe make a few cants (which i hadn't yet) we'll see i sent them a note, i don't know what will happen, i cant even get on my own page now

got it back!

Speaking of fraud, I'd also like to drop in a quick bit of advice: If you should decide to click on a google adsense link while you're on someone's blog, please make sure you only click once. Google considers too many clicks from a single IP address fraud, and they will not only not pay you for those clicks, but they'll not pay you at all.

Clicking adsense is a nice way to support your fellow bloggers, just don't go overboard and get anyone in trouble!

That is a good piece of advice, I am learning new things!!

@walkintheway - wordpress.com hosted blogs aren't allowed to have ads on them, if you want ads you need to self-host your blog on your own site with the free wordpress software from wordpress.org

And relevant to this swap - are self hosted Wordpress blogs going to be allowed? Sorry to complicate things.

Good point, @keptwench I didn't even think about the fact that my blog might not qualify since it's self-hosted. @walkinintheway are self-hosted wordpress blogs allowed? See my blog http://www.phdead.net as an example. It is run on the wordpress framework, but is not connected to the wordpress.com network. I understand if this doesn't qualify, and I'm fine with removing myself if that's the case.

yes, self- hosted wordpress blogs are fine, i had to figure this out since gooseberry's is self hosted. and keptwench, can't afford, nor am i smart enough to self-host :) i just didn't realize that affiliate links were not allowed, but it's all good now!
