Description:

This is my first Crafting Queens swap as hostess so I got to thinking - what do Queens need? Crowns! OK, too heavy to ship... Scepters!!! We all need Crafting Queen scepters! I figure we can make small ones for each other so that we can always be reminded of the crafty royalty that we are. Use whatever materials you like. You can customize it to your partners profile or just make a fantabulous, craftastic scepter. I would say anywhere between 4" and 12" would be fine, depends on how you want to deal with shipping. Just make it gorgeous and worthy of a Queen! Since this is a great group I'm sure I don't need to set up any fussy rules, I'll review profiles prior to start date and contact you if you look funky. If you flake or don't do justice to our royal family you will receive a nasty karma hit. If anybody has any questions or comments please feel free to PM me.

On my watch list. I love it. Just not sure I could get it done in time for the send date.

here

is a magic wand I made. I think I could use the same technique for a sceptre. I took a wooden dowel and decorated it with polymer clay, I used the liquid clay to attach to the wood and baked it like that in the oven. I did some wood burning (probably not for a sceptre). I drilled the end so I could set a bead. I used leather for the handle and glued it over a bunch of fibres.

You could also use a piece of PVC pipe, but not bake it with clay. What other ideas do people have? I think some of my broken vintage jewelry would work great on a sceptre. This sounds like so much fun!
