Description:

With summer coming up and our kids getting out of school I'm am going try and host a few swaps to keep them busy and give them something fun to do! For this swap your child will have 1 partner .You will go for a walk with your child and they will document it with photos! The minimum amount of photos the child will send is 5, but they can send as many as they would like. The photos should be at least 4x6. The walk could be just around your yard or across town.

This second part of this swap is that they will write to tell about their walk or what they like about certain photos. There will be no minimum amount but use your best judgment so that who ever receives it has a decent amount of information. They may send this in letter form, write on the back of the photos, mount them and add captions, ect.

The maximum age for this swap is 12, but I am not listing a minimum. I feel that the little ones often get left out. The child must be old enough to take the photo themselves. Be aware of this when signing up if you are signing up for a 12 year old for instance make sure they would not mind receiving something from a younger child. This is not a photography contest this is for our kids to have fun! For younger children if they can not right you may help them by writing what they say.

Also if they would like to send a found object such as a leaf or flower they picked up along the way that would be fine. They could also use the photos and cardboard to make a mini photo album. These are just suggestions not requirements I am leaving this very open so the children can be creative and do as little or as much as they want.

To recap : Take your child for a walk, min photos to send = 5, and tell your partner about it. If you want to go nuts and make it fancy that's fine too!

For simplicity's sake if you have more than one child they can work together on this project but they will still send to only one partner and receive one in return.

Just a suggestion, could you make the maximum age for these children's swaps higher. My 15 year old daughter might want to participate in some of them. Thanks.

Can I do this with my child zencupcake? He has a little trouble with the buttons on the camera though, and I have to help him out.

@robin50 I wouldn't have a problem with your 15 year old joining if she would like too. Just make sure she is okay with receiving something from a younger child.

@rockdiva24 I'm sorry this swap is limited to human children only.

That is such a good idea. My son is 4 but has been photographing since 3, he cant fully write yet. I will have to think up something similar.

Great idea, love it.

The children do not have to be old enough to write. You can just dictate what they say. They just need to be able to take the photo!
