Description:
Email me if I forget something. My idea for my first swap is very simple. Each of us will knit or crochet two 5" x 5" squares with an eye towards creating a mini quilt. For the first one I am not going to specify a color, (check your partners profile for color ideas), but the square must be 5 inches x 5 inches. It can be plain or fancy it's up to the knitter. This is confined to this group and I will be checking profiles. A minimum of 10 Type 3 swaps and a rating of 4.9 or higher.

A version of afghan squares that I did a few rounds of was 6" squares! How do you make 6" and 5" blend?

Maybe a 6 surrounded by 5's. Once you get the pieces you play with it until the design looks good to you the mattress stitch them together adding a few one inch strips if you need them. You will have lots of time to figure it out. To make even a small lap blanket you need about 21 squares in the 5" format and that works out to a minimum of 10 swaps at one a month that is 10 months.
