Description:

This swap is for anyone who has grandkids who love to get mail. My granddaughter loves to go the mailbox with her mom and open it up and get the mail out. I would like for her to get some mail addressed to her. I’m keeping this first swap to USA only. If it goes well maybe we’ll do an international later.

As I don’t want to give out the children’s address all swaps will be sent to your partners along with an extra envelope to be addressed to the child and resent. If you would like to decorate that second envelope with the child in mind that would be great!

What I need you to do when you join the swap is to add a comment to the bottom of this swap with the following information.

  • Child’s first name
  • boy/girl
  • age
  • At least Three favorite of theirs. Some suggestions might be: Color, cartoon character, Animal, book, outdoor activity, rainy day/indoor
activity, movie/TV show, song. Or anything else you can think of that will help your partner to write a personal note to your grandchild.
  • Include something that has just happened to them or might happen soon, like:
they just learned to walk, or lost their first tooth, or just finished the 3rd grade, or will be starting school next year.

When you get your partner/s, find their comment at the bottom. Then write a short note to the child based on that info.

Include with the note at least 3 surprise items (just some ideas to help you get started):

  • a postcard
  • 3-5 character bandaids
  • a couple of pencils (wrapped so they don’t come through the envelope)
  • crayons,
  • a coloring book.
  • stickers,
  • age appropriate craft items
  • 2 hair items
  • a hand-made bookmark
  • fun button pin
  • temporary tattoos
  • 1.00 store surprise
  • notepad
  • stationary-(at least 4 papers with matching envelopes)

Remember this is to bring a little joy and excitement to a child’s life.

Rating: if your package arrives with a personal note for the child, an envelope to resend in and at least 3 surprise items please rate a 5.

Rating must be 4.5 or higher and no 1's. Please explain any 3s. Newbies with well filled out profiles are welcome to join.

My granddaughter's name is MacKenzie, she is 2 yrs old, or will be at the end of this month. Her favorite color is purple, just like mine, and she loves Tinkerbell. She even named her cat Tink! She likes to hike and go on scavenger hunts. She is getting a new baby sister toward the end of September, that she has said can sleep on the floor! (All the other beds in her home belong to someone else! We'll see how that works out when the baby arrives. :)

What a great swap idea! I too have a granddaughter (age 4) who loves to get mail. Unfortunately, I live in Canada, so can't join this one. Hopefully you'll do a similar international swap in the future (or perhaps someone wants to do a private swap?)

My granddaughter, Taylor, is 4 1/2 years old. She loves the color pink, fairies, stickers, Dora, the Lion King, and all types of paper crafts, Her hair is too short and fine to wear any hair things. The family just acquired a new trailer, which they take camping on the weekends when the weather is nice. She has just finished her first year of pre-school. She has a two year old sister, who isn't yet interested in mail, but I'm sure Taylor will share anything she receives!

My granddaughter, Brianna, is 8 1/2. She loves pink, fairies, princesses. She still loves to color. She just finished softball and loves to swim. She has beautiful long hair and loves hair accessories. Bree is her nickname; she calls me Nanny. Chapter books are great! Unusual stationery would be fun! I had some printed up for her and she loved it! Please no organic food. she is forced to eat it everyday and hates it! (Her step-mother is NOT a cook!) But she is allowed candy! Go figure! Right now her favorites are Yo-Yo Balls but whatever that is I can't seem to find them here in Washington! She tells me At Walmart, but not mine! My Bree is not in a happy household and feels alone so I try to do all I can for her! Thank you sooo much for helping! Please get in touch with me if you have any questions!
