The Envelope Please

I'm in!!! Had to find an "unusual" shape envelope. That was tricky!!!!

@funkhoup I totally agree that it was tricky to find an unusual shape. I finally found one and then it took me awhile to make the envelope template around it - LOL!

Okay still watching one question... Can I cut the unusual shape card/envie using my cricut cartridge I have? It has some odd shapes I can do. Like circle and triangle, etc.

Do the rectangle envelopes have to be a certain size? I started playing around with making some today. Most of them are note card size, about 3x4 or 3x5. Would those be okay?

usps.com has specifics under section to "calculate domestic and/or international postage" about what constitutes a letter envelope that can be mailed for standard postage, including sizes and allowable ratio/proportion of sides

hmm indeed the unusual shape is harder than I was expecting! I have four other lovely ones made though!

Cards are usually sent like tiggerkitn said 3 x 4 or 3 x 5 and letters I send are usually rectangle. So I understand making 5 envies 3 x 4 or 3 x 5 is okay and rectanular ones are like legal size envies right? Because if we don't get it right someone in the swap may give you a 3 because of wrong size. I like any size and prefer larger ones.

Maximum size for Letters 11-1/2" long x 6-1/8" high

Maximum thickness for Letters 1/4" thick

Unusual Shapes and Sizes Sometimes a piece of mail requires additional postage because it is a certain shape or size that is difficult to process on mail sorting machines. To make sure you’re paying the correct postage, visit pe.usps.com. These are examples of mail that could require additional postage: · Square envelopes · Envelopes on which the address is written parallel to the shorter edge square

AND AN EXTRA TIP from me...Note that letters go through sorting machines. If your envelope is stuffed in the middle & thin on the edges (uneven thickness)...the edges WILL bust open going through these machines. It's always a good idea to tape around the edges :]
