Description:

I ran this swap in the spring and people seemed to like it, so I thought I'd run it again.

Let’s share paper scraps. I know you all must have them. I’m talking about the bits & pieces left over from our various art projects. You know, the ones you just can’t bear to throw away, thinking they’ll be good for something in the future (smile). However, the thing with me is that I forget to use them and instead cut what I need from a bigger piece, and then I end up with even more scraps. A vicious cycle it is…

You will send each of your 2 partners at least 25 different scraps. Please send a nice variety of paper colors & sizes (cardstock, textured paper, decorative paper, handmade paper, scrapbook paper, etc.) Please do not send: magazine pages, calendar pages, newspaper, plain copier-type paper, or plastic material. This swap is sender’s choice on colors. (If you get a color you don’t care for, you could always re-gift it, or be brave and try creating with a color that's new to you).

Minimum scrap size: 1" x 3” (2.5cm x 7.6cm) Maximum scrap size: your choice.

This is an easy swap and it’s open to everyone, as long as you have a well-filled out profile. If you sign up, please follow through and send your swap. No one likes flakers!!

Here are a few ideas for using scraps:

  • Thin strips make nice borders – you can even punch a decorative edge.
  • Stamp a word on a scrap. Cut out (or tear out for rough edge) and adhere to another layer for a colorful frame. You could then adhere that to another layer and so on, for several colorful frames.
  • Paper weaving.
  • Randomly collage for a neat background.

Hi Amy, Help! I'm a newbie and yours is the first swap I've joined. Problem is...now what? Julie (mightyquinn4)

Oooooh! We Pennsylvania Dutch hate throwing anything away which might be useful in the future. Plus I like working on small scale projects, so I consider scraps to be tiny treasures. Can't wait to see what my partner sends me. Happy swapping everyone! :)
