Is this specific area only or international?

edlefevre 08/19/2007 #

Sorry, I see it now. Anyway- no allergies, and I am an exlusive hooker. I've learned to knit a few times, but it never quite stuck, but crochet- that I'm an old pro at.

Sooty2Shoes 08/19/2007 #

The same with me. I'm a crochter and that's it. I could never get the hang of knitting even though I tried. But, I've been crocheting forever and can whip up pretty much anything now. Hehe.

No allergies, either. =]

krazypoodle 08/19/2007 #

Another crochet fanatic here! I've been crocheting since I was a kid and I'm totally jazzed over the crochet resurgence :D No allergies or preferences - surprise me!

cathych 08/19/2007 #

I am only a knitter, and am allergic to wool. I love any kind of cotton yarn, I do like like acrylic. I am pretty set on stitch markers. I would love some point protectors, those my kitty loves to play with those, so they are always lost!I also would love to have a stitch counter, I don't have one of those. I do not want any baby or child patterns.

Sooty2Shoes 08/22/2007 #

Update: I just figured out the knit stitch! I'm proud of myself! Hehe .. I'd still like crochet supplies, though. I won't use knitting enough for a whole bag of supplies. Although, I could never have enough needles. Lol

peridoticparadox 08/24/2007 #

Crochet here, and i am set with most hooks and yarn! Thanks! Lauren

huiyuehin 08/25/2007 #

Please let me know if you make another Int'l one! Thank you!

Sooty2Shoes 08/25/2007 #

huiyuehin - I'll make an int'l one in November, I'm thinking. =]

Caam 08/28/2007 #

I have no allergies and I looove wool. I am just trying to re-learn crochet (wish me luck, it has been 20 years since the last time I did it!). I have no real preferences, surprise me!

Congrats to Znow White for getting the knit stitch!! It's all cake now!

knittingauntie 08/28/2007 #

this sounds like fun - i knit but would like to try some more crochet. How "big" a bag are we talking anyway? Sharon

Sooty2Shoes 08/28/2007 #

sharon - It has to be big enough to fit atleast one skein of yarn, the pattern, needles, notepad and supplies. :}

girthta 09/ 2/2007 #

I have no allergies, but please do not send me anything drenched in stale cigarette smoke! If I have to smell that while I'm working I won't enjoy it!
I crochet. I know how to knit, but I love to crochet and that's my true passion. I would consider myself an intermediate, border-line expert crocheter. What a great swap idea!

girthta 09/ 2/2007 #

oh yea no baby patterns for me, either. But a nice Ami project would be cool!
Caam- if you want to teach yourself crochet, Lion Brand's website has a great resource online, check it out! Play around. Took me 20 years to finally get it, but I can't stop now!

I knit but am going to learn to crochet this fall. I am allergic to wool, but do like to do felting so it isn't that big of a deal, I just can't have any wool right next to my skin. I have 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls) and would like to start making some hats - that is really the reason I want to learn to crochet as I have seen some darling girl hats that were crocheted. Anyway.... I can't wait!!

knittingauntie 09/ 5/2007 #

Great - I just joined - my name is Sharon, I knit, know some crochet stitches, but not many. I have no true alergies, but hate the smell of cigarette smoke (former smoker - its been more than 10 years and I really HATE that smell) I have just started making 2 color mittens and love working with nice wool (sport weight) and double pointed needles or a short circular needle.

Hi all,

I love to spend as much time possible knitting and reading. The only crochet I have done is edging on sweaters and button holes. I love wool, sock yarn, knitting bags of all sizes, knitting notions, coffee, a little tea and I'm always looking for a new sock pattern.

Happy swapping!

brnwebgrrl 09/ 9/2007 #

I love knitting. I can crochet a little bit, but I don't use it for much more than for seaming and edges. I love sock yarn, and laceweight yarns in natural fibers. I am an advanced knitter, and I love all of the cool knitting tools and supplies that go along with the craft. My favorite needles are long circs (for magic loop) and bamboo dpns.

I am looking forward to this fun swap!

beawhiz 09/15/2007 #

FYI for my partner. I'm a crocheter. I've tried to learn to knit, but it hasn't happened yet. I need a few more classes before I make it there on my own. I have no allergies, and I'm set with my hooks. I haven't been able to find a stitch counter for some reason, and I'd love one of those. I've just discovered bamboo yarn, and I absolutely love it! I have no kids and don't know anyone with kids, so no baby/kids' patterns for me, thanks!

5elementknitr 09/18/2007 #

I knit obsessively! Mostly natural fibers. I could always use stitch markers, as my hungry couch steals them all. I use metal needles and am curious about the KnitPicks needles and the addi turbo lace needles. I could always use some metal DPN's. Most needles I need lately are US size 1-3 and long, at least 32". (I'm Magic Loop-ing socks these days.)

I crochet, too.

Don't let any of this influence you too much. I love surprises and am really not all that picky!

The only things I really don't need are baby/kids stuff (patterns and such).

Caam 09/24/2007 #

Beawhiz, your package will be going out tomorrow!

shecooks 10/11/2007 #

hehehe, i just re-read the swap description... see, I bought a decent sized bag and I was working on the "fill this bag" principle... I'm still gonna work on that principle.. there are two more things I wanna get for my partner... but yeah, pick 3... I'm up to about 9. But the bag still looks so empty... it's tough to fill a bag with patterns and notions... what's that you say? needs more yarn? I couldn't agree with you more...

Sooty2Shoes 10/13/2007 #

Hehehehe. Can you be my partner, shecooks??? LOL

It says you MUST put atleast 4 items in there. You can fill it to your heart's content. :]
