Description:

It is so fun to get a card that isn’t rectangular or square! Please make shaped card to send to one partner. I’ve made round, oval, bracket (imagine the scroll type of bracket on each side of the card, 2nd example below), a flower pot, (see my other swap here on this group), baby onesie, lily pad and even a rhombus!

It is really easy. Cut 2 of the shape you wish to use, score the back layer about 3/8” from the top, glue the area above the scored line to the front. Alternatively, die cut or cut FOLDED paper leaving just a bit of the fold inside the die so it keeps the two pieces together. I prefer the first method, just me!

Some examples: http://eclecticendeavours.blogspot.com/2009/10/wisteria-100-for-whimsical-wednesdays.html http://eclecticendeavours.blogspot.com/2010/05/floral-gratitude-shaped-card.html http://eclecticendeavours.blogspot.com/2009/09/cards-for-kate-whimsical-wednesday.html And a tutorial: http://eclecticendeavours.blogspot.com/2009/04/shaped-card-tutorial.html

If you use rubber stamping, please stamp cleanly, missed areas or double lines are not acceptable. Please use at least 2 layers and 3 embellishments on the main area of your card. Cards must be a minimum of 3 x 5”.

Please use ALL quality items to make this card. If you prefer CAS (clean and simple) designs with only one layer, please send me an image of the card at least 3 days before the sign up deadline and I will decide if the card is acceptable. Please do not be offended, I am only trying to rule out a plain piece of CS with an uncoloured/undecorated/unembellished stamped image in the middle!

Stickers, AS ACCENTS, should be limited to high quality scrapbooking or card making stickers, not the kind meant for kids or teacher’s reward stickers.

Please do not use computer generated images or sentiments because I have been very disappointed by images printed in very poor quality lately. (If you print them well using very good quality paper and ink, your partner won’t know and can’t rate you badly for it can they?? Wink wink)

Please write a message to your partner as if the card was meant for them but on a separate piece of paper so the card can still be used. Include an envelope if you have one.

Please make a beautiful card you are proud of and would be thrilled to receive. Make sure your work is clean and precise. No glue should show and straight cuts need to be straight. If hand cutting your shape, make sure the cuts are smooth and even. Please check your partner’s profile for dislikes and avoid those. For instance, do not use a birthday sentiment on my card because I don’t celebrate birthdays (along with other holidays-list on profile). Other than that, this is sender’s choice.

Please have a 4.9+ rating to join and no 1's EVER or 3's in the last 6 months. I will accept explanations of course, PM me. Newbies are welcome with WELL FILLED out profiles and MUST PM me at least 3 days before the end of the swap to show good intentions. A newbie is someone with less than 5 completed and rated type 2 or 3 swaps. If you see a flaker has joined, don't worry, I will weed them out. If you are really worried, give me a heads up! I’ve only been a member since March 24 and been flaked on 5 times so I get it!

Enjoy, Rebecca
