Quotes in a Mini-Zine

Let's make a mini-zine of quotes! Your zine can be full of your favorite quotes or maybe you want to choose a particular topic and include quotes that have to do with that topic or even just random quotes.

Zines come in all shapes and sizes, but for this swap we will be making a mini-zine from just one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper.

Now that you are up to speed on zines and how to make a mini-zine... let's get started!

Step one: Assemble your mini-zine (use white paper or patterned scrapbook paper...or you can make the zine from white paper and glue in various scrapbook papers on each section).

Step two: Give it a title and include your name. (It's nice to add the date somewhere, too, either on the front or the back.)

Step two: Add quotes (handwrite them on the pages, or print on computer, cut out, and glue on the pages). Note: Keep in mind that you will be photocopying your zine so print will need to be dark. Pencil or light colored pen, etc. will not copy well.)

Step four: Embelish (add little drawings, decorations, stamps, stickers, magazine cut outs, etc. to the pages).

Step five: Photocopy (black and white is perfectly fine. If you choose to go with black and white, though, it's best to keep it simple with dark print and line drawings, simple stamps, etc. You can also easily color copy it or scan it into your computer and print with color printer. The color copier will pick up more elaborate designs.)

Step six: Send one of your photocopied mini-zines to three partners.

You make ONE zine, photocopy it THREE times, and send ONE zine to each of three partners. (Save the original for yourself.) You will enjoy receiving three different zines from your swap partners!

I will check profiles, but since this is a group swap, there shouldn't be any problems, right? If there are any problems though, I'm happy to angel. Let me know if you can, too. It's pretty simple since you can just photocopy and send. :)
