Description:

Do you love ATCs like I do? Are you into all kinds of handmade, handpainted backgrounds? This swap is for original (sorry - no digital) backgrounds any way you want to do it. Think shaving cream with ink or paint, alcohol inks, crayons, paint, markers, whatever. Just keep in mind these should be creative and thoughtful. Please spend time thinking how to complete the backgrounds. You can do everyone different, or just the five you send to each swapper. This swap is for 5 ATCs to each partner (15 in all). Lets have fun with this one!

Anyone with a rating less than 4 please message me BEFORE you join. New swappers are welcome, but you MUST have your profile filled out and you must contact me BEFORE you sign up. : ) Swappers with multiple no sends, blank profiles, or less then a 4.0 when the swap starts will be dropped.

Questions? Ask! Thanks for looking and Happy Swapping!

This sounds interesting. I'd like just the plain background with nothing else, but then, that is just me. I promise to put something on my backgrounds.

is it just making the backgrounds so our partners can use them for making their own art on it?

I want to sign up, but am a bit confused. Is this for just the decorated/painted background cards? Or is this for completed cards where we do the painted/ink, etc background and then finish the cards?

Thanks, BrendaLea

Also a little confused! Thought it was jsut for the backgrounds but you talk about sending ATCs & completing them...?

This is for just backgrounds - your partner will be able to complete them however they wish. I've been in a swap like this and its alot of fun to get something and try to figure out what to do with it! It'll be fun! susi

Excellent - that's what I was hoping it was. Looking forward to this!

My backgrounds went out today to Kimberly, Dawny, and susiqz. I included a note on the techniques I used. If you wish more info on them, let me know. Thanks susiqz for the opportunity. I got Janet Burns' this week, and I love the variety. Can't wait to create an ATC with them.

Posted today! Mine are each either watercolours, acrylics, or stamp-pad mayhem ;)

I, uh, got a bit carried away. Ahem. I now have a nearly 3-inch stack of prepared/decorated ATC bases (including some quite thin ones at that), and that's after popping 45 (!) into envelopes for my partners. So, can someone tell me why my first thought on looking at the stack wasn't "How am I going to use all these?" but "Hmm, I obviously need to make more red and brown ones, but I'm doing fine for blues and neutrals..." Shoot me now!

Kimberly, your backgrounds are works of art in their own right. GORGEOUS. Thank you so much! (I don't know if i'll ever be able to bring myself to use them as backgrounds ;) )
