Battlefield of the Mind Chap 1-2

This is a study on the book of "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer. Please read chapters 1-2 (The Mind is the Battlefield & A Vital Necessity). Read the scripture below before answering the following questions:

Chapter 1

1. Read Ephesians 6:12; John 8:44

A. How does Satan attempt to defeat us?

B. What did Jesus call the devil?

C. In what ways does Satan try to bombard our minds to defeat us?

2. Read 2 Corinthians 10:4,5

A. What are "strongholds," and how does Satan attempt to set them up in our mind?

B. Read the examples of strongholds Mary and John encountered in the text and give an example of a stronghold you have struggled with in your life. How might this stronghold have come about?

3. Read John 8:31,32; Mark 4:24

A. How can we overcome strongholds?

B. How are we to use the weapon of the Word of God to overcome strongholds?

4. Read Luke 4:18,19

According to this passage, what has God promised concerning the poor, the captives, the blind, the oppressed and others?

5. Read 1 Corinthians 10:13

What does this verse say about God and the temptations and trials we encounter while tearing down strongholds?

Chapter 2

1. Read Romans 8:5

To have a successful Christian life, what alternative to fleshly, wrong and negative thoughts is a vital necessity?

2. Read Zechariah 4:6

Since determination is not enough to be set free from strongholds, what else is needed?

3. Read Matthew 12:33

Explain how the phrase "a tree is known by its fruit" pertains to our lives.
