Eeeeek yaay I am so glad you made this swap!!

I'm so curious about this! But I don't how comfortable I am with trying it just yet. =) Anyone here have some they've done on their flickr?

Oh I'm so happy to see other people who love yarn bombing too! :D I found yarn bombing not long ago but I'm so excited!

WOAH! This is pretty sweet, I've been thinking about actually yarn bombing since I heard about it. But I'm kind of really a beginner-knitter. If we're sending something, should it just be a panel for the recipient to sew up onto something? And UFO's are the smaller "stand alone" pieces? Like things to tie from trees?

I just want to double check everything before I sign up! I don't want to do it wrong. :D

@Hellotheremary - it doesn't matter how experienced a knitter you are! Tags can be any skill level :D and you CAN'T do it wrong!! In terms of what to send, can be anything - easiest is probably a rectangular/trapezoidal shape that your partner can sew/zip tie to something, but can also be things that are of different shapes that can hang or dangle off things... or knitwear to warm up statues (eg hats, etc).... can be floral/foliage ish things to decorate pretty much anything... I think that anything you send can be yarnbombed somehow!

UFOs are UnFinished Objects. This was how yarnbombing started - a bunch of AMAZING gals in Texas got frustrated and took their UFOs and plastered them around the city.

Alright, I'm good at knitting rectangles, haha. I'm excited! Thanks for hosting something so awesome!!!! I think I might just start tonight. :D Some of the pictures are just so intimidating, but I will do my best!!!

And yeah, rectangles are easiest, and it's pretty easy to find SOMETHING they'll fit on :P if you want to get fancier, hats and scarves can be fun for statues, and I really like putting flowers in trees!

Please tell there is no right or wrong way to make a yarn bomb. I've made my 1st and love it not sure it is right :( Guess I'm nervous about free range no rules!!

Yeah, HGoodbrad, me too ;) I'm also new to it and I hope I'll do it right.

There is absolutely no wrong way!!!! So long as it gets attached (relatively) securely. Don't worry about doing it right - just do it! :D

You'll find that you get better at picking interesting locations over time and you might improve your attaching methods, but it's impossible to do it wrong

Oh, and I find the best way to tie them on is to either sew it up (with the same yarn you made it with) or use zipties! Zipties are better for being stealthy since they are faster, but sewing looks nicer.

I think it would be kind of neat if we could see everyone's photos after the swap. Any way we could create and post to a flickr group or something? :) Just a thought.

I'm having a blast creating my tags. I finished one last night and I'm halfway through my second one. Fun stuff!

I suck at crocheting, and I've been playing around and just kind of making colorful crochet blobs, but they're fun. I got this funky yarn and needed a good use for it! I just hope no one minds that i'm really, really, REALLY a beginner at all this...
