Remember cutting paper snowflakes when you were a kid? Or maybe you've perfected the art!

It is fun to make snowflakes for friends and family members, especially during the Winter season.

I love cutting white paper snowflakes and taping them to my windows in the fall and winter! Hope you'll join me!

If you need a brief tutorial click here.

Also, Here

Cut 3 different snowflakes for your partner, on white paper (computer paper would work fine). To save on postage, send them folded the same as they were when you cut them. You should be able to send them all in a regular envelope that way.

Make them all different. They need not be perfect, or extravagant. Just get cutting!

If you want a pattern you can google "paper snowflake patterns" and find some. I myself will love to do them freehand.

I am opening this to newbies, with WELL filled out profile, and those with no recent bad ratings.

I love paper snowflakes! Just made 2 deco books related to paper snowflakes too :) Putting this on watch list

What size would you like us to make them? Full 8x11 sized paper or smaller ones?

rubyhousesliprs 09/15/2010 #

8 x 11 is good, you could also make them a bit smaller, just not miniscule. Hope you join!

Oh wow, this will definitely be fun. I remember one year I was trying to make a bunch of itty bitty ones with paper scraps. I'm putting this on my watch list for now.

This sounds like fun! I haven't cut paper snowflakes since I was a kid:) I found a really good vidoe tutorial for making these:) Here it is:))) Helps seeing someone making these since I can't remember how and haven't gotten it down pat yet, lol.

theladylilac 09/15/2010 #

watchlist for now !!! I love the simplicity and yet.. beauty of this swap :D

is it alright if we send them still folded? I wouldn't want them to tear in the mail

catestalkergc 09/16/2010 #

This is such a good idea!

rubyhousesliprs 09/16/2010 #

@theladylilac I think still folded would be the best bet. That way they won't get torn in the mail.

rubyhousesliprs 09/16/2010 #

@bettflow09 Thank you for sharing the video! I haven't cut snowflakes since I was a kid, either. And it's been a loong..er.. time since I was a kid!

theladylilac 09/16/2010 #

good good good !!!! I don't want them torn up :D

Here's a site with all sorts of designs to use. They're printable templates that you can fold and cut for practice before doing the real thing :)

Ugh, been sitting here with this comment open for about 10 minutes trying to find the page I had seen that told me how to do links. I give up, copy-paste wins the day! :)

This is such a great idea I just had to join. For the cost of a stamp you can get some lovely hand made snow flakes! Rebecca Xx

I've just made my snowflakes...although none of them are as pretty as the ones in the picture above, I made some of them out of coloured paper, I hope that's ok. I wanted to make something a little bit different! Can't wait to get them in the post now :) Xx

rubyhousesliprs 09/22/2010 #

Not to worry, mine look like they did when I was in elementary school. LOL!!

Kobrinfamily 09/22/2010 #

I like this swap what a wonderful idea....Great idea too get you in the mood for winter <3

rubyhousesliprs 09/24/2010 #

I've definately found that square paper makes this much easier. I'm going to try and find some 8 inch x 8 inch paper.
