Description:

Do you enjoy reading classical literature?
Is there a list of books you would love to read but can't choose which one to invest your time reading?
Do you love reading with a huge cuppa tea by your side?

Post a list in the comment section of several classical books you have always wanted to read or own. Let your Partner choose one of the books...new or gently used...please send a good copy.

Along with the book send a nice assortment of lovely fresh teas at least six and a brief note explaining to your partner why you chose the book. Maybe there is something about the book that interested you or that you are curious about. Maybe you just happened to read a book on their list and you want them to share the expierence.

Classical reading is fairly easy to find but please give your partner a long list to choose from. There is no requirement about what period you decide to list (early, modern, post-modern)as long as you give your partner a list from which they can easily choose a book just for you.

This swap is for readers and tea drinkers with an excellent swap history who enjoy shopping for books and surprising thier partners.

Again to clarify, think about what books you have always wanted to read and post a list in the comment section of several, the more the better. If your list is limited to five, please make sure that the books are easy to find at a bookstore for an affordable price. I don't know for example if you can find all of Marcel Proust's great works in affordable paper backs.

Your books and tea must be sent with delivery confirmation. Your books must be free of smoke and mildew smells.

Serious swappers and readers only, no newbies, url, email, blogs don't count. No more than one no-send please. If you are not sure if you can join please email me first. I will delete you if you have a series of incomplete or late swaps. Sorry but I cannot angel this swap.

I'd like any of the Jane Austen (other than P&P, since I own several copies of that one!)

Also, any of the Jeeves & Wooster books. Or that sort of thing.

Please, no fruit teas.

i'd love anything by anais nin, sylvia plath or virginia woolf. i already own the bell jar by sylvia plath, but that's it :) i love journals/autobiographies and don't have any of theirs, so that would be awesome as well :D <3

I'd love anything by Oscar Wilde (except Dorian Gray; I've got 3 copies of that!), Jonathan Swift or Alexander Pope. I have a special fondness for 18th-19th century literature. And if anyone happens to have a copy of Peter Pan (Barrie), that would be incredible. My profile also has other ideas if you need, but really, I'd be pleased with anything :)

Margaret Oliphant: Miss Marjoribanks (or any others); Elizabeth Gaskell: The Life of Charlotte Bronte (or any others); George Eliot: Middlemarch, Romola; Charles Dickens: anything besides Great Expectations, Bleak House and Hard Times; Thomas Hardy: Under the Greenwood Tree, The Woodlanders, Desperate Remedies. No problems with used books as long as it's not falling apart. I don't like mint teas. My husband is going to go nuts when he sees another book show up in our house! :)

Stuff I'd love to read:

Dostoyevsky: 1. Demons 2. Notes From The Underground

Hafiz: 1. The Gift 2. I Heard God Laughing

E.E. Cummings: 1. Any of his poetry

Czeslaw Milosz: 1. Any of his poetry

Sylvia Plath: 1. Journals

Jack Kerouac: 1. On The Road

Allan Ginsberg: 1. Any of his poetry

I would say my favorite types of teas are a really good earl grey (tetley or murchies brands particularly) or other flavored black teas (currant, peach, mango, etc). Also genmaicha (toasted brown rice tea) and oolong are perfect for cool fall days (favorite weather) as they tend to have a nice, toasty, hearty flavor.

Thanks so much! :)
