Description:

These gorgeous stick pins are great simply as pins or for your next project. Use them for decorating your pages, albums, minis, or even in your home decor. So fun!

For this swap, you will create 3 beautiful stick pins (min 2" stick pin) for your partner using at LEAST 3 quality beads. No plastic seeds please. You may use glass seeds as spacers only and very sparingly. You will also be concentrating on your packaging for this swap. You could make a card for the pins to slide in, a small container, some flowers, or a cute little bag to hold these lovelies. Whatever you choose is up to you for the packaging but please be sure to tailor your bead choices to the color and style preferences of your partner. . . as this is the Spoiled Swappers group!

Here is a stick pin tutorial for more information on how to make these.

Please post below with your likes/dislikes so your partner can easily find the necessary.

I would love to receive anything in the following colors: White, pastels, in shades of green, blue, or pink. Fall colors in lighter shades of tans, browns, reds, and oranges. I also love antique copper finishes or silver tones as in the picture.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Yeah. I get to join now. I love any colors, really. So any that go well together are good for me. I have a weird color palette of bright/neon green, raspberry/fuchsia, and very bright turquoise in my office. But I will be happy with anything.

Is there a standard length/size for the pin?

thebragal 10/21/2010 #

I'd like pearls or any pastels except yellow or peach. Medium pink or turquoise is good too. I like not too shiny/bright gold and silver is ok too. I prefer brushed metal. Please no copper. No cheap plastic beads/crystals. Nice ones aren't too expensive when you only use a few! Not stuck on AB crystals. The ones with a slightly cloudy iridescent look. No grey or black.

I'm new to this craft though I know it looks obvious from the photo -- any links for ideas/instructions? I normally dont do beading but would love to give this a try :)

Great questions!

@Lishmo - 2" is about the standard size. You can get corsage pins in the wedding section at Hobby Lobby etc. They come in all shapes for the top. You can also buy the basic pins with no head on them.

@17Papergoddess Here is a stick pin tutorial on YouTube. This gives you a few samples.

is it also possible to the tailor pins with the colored heads like in the tutorial or are those to short? because I don't remember seeing those pins in a craftstore here but I will check again

Hi @lieselotte811195 . . . I think as long as they are at least 2" you will be fine. You want have room to put your beads on and have it also be usable in projects etc.
