Description:

I AM NOT IN ANY WAY ADVOCATING UNDERAGE DRINKING, DRINKING AND DRIVING, OR DRINKING TO UNHEALTHY EXCESS WITH THIS SWAP. THAT IS NOT MY INTENTION, AND I HOPE THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL KEEP THEIR PERSONAL ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION WITHIN SAFE AND LEGAL LEVELS.

This swap is very, very simple.

Step One: Find your postcard.
Step Two: Address and stamp your postcard.
Step Three: Get drunk.
Step Four: Write the postcard while drunk.
Step Five: Sober up, marvel at what you wrote, and mail it off.

This is a very, very simple idea that involves mass amounts of fun (in the form of booze).

Ten days to get drunk and write a postcard seems to be about right, especially because there is a weekend right in the middle of those ten days. If that doesn't feel long enough to people, I'll be glad to push the mail date back and give everyone a bit more time.

One partner because it's tempting fate to ask someone to manage to write two drunk postcards.

The only reason I am hosting this swap is because I always giggle when my friends blog while drunk; the amount of nonsense that pours out of their fingers is just too funny. Why not make a stranger smile with a nonsensical postcard of their very own, too?

Let's define some terms before we get started, too:

drunk: Any level of inebriation. Giggly tipsy? Sure, go with it. Completely sauced and can't stand up? That works, too. If you don't normally do this sort of thing, aim to get yourself a little above tipsy but far below "I don't remember last night."

write: Any sort of scribble will do, really. Didn't form words because your writing skills disintegrate when you are under the influence? That's fine. You were moved to draw a picture? Also fine. You missed the postcard completely and got a few things on it? Hey, that's ok, too!

And of course...you were waiting for it...the particulars.

You will be banned from the swap if you are:
* a known flaker.
* under 21 and a resident of the US. (Sorry, but I have to.)
* my mother.
* someone with less than a 4.5 rating.
* a general ass about the nature of the swap.
* a swapper with any no-sends in the past month.

If you have less than a 4.5 but you really really want to be part of this, PM me before the swap starts. We'll talk. I'll consider.

For those who watch the lists, I will be doing the banning right before I assign partners. I will also be angeling this swap so no mailbox will be left unfilled. (And I make no sense when I get even slightly tipsy.)

I accept all sorts of nonsense provided they are in the form of a question.

Thank you for my first laugh of the morning!

Since it is Saturday, I will let you know latter tonight if I am going to join! LOL!!!

Yay! This is a great idea. My best friend and I used to have a special journal (with black 'scraperboard' pages) which we'd take out clubbing with us, and whilst chilling out at about 4am we'd scrawl down our memories of the evening, and also invite friends, barmen etc to autograph that date's page... Looking back through it really brings back lots of memories that would otherwise have been lost forever!
