Description:

I love the grace, beauty and style of geishas, so I wanted to make a geisha card swap. You will make one card for each of three partners featuring a geisha.

Your cards should be standard ATC size, which is 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. Your cards can be any medium--hand-drawn, rubber stamps, collage--as long as you put in your best effort, and create a card you would like to receive. Please don't slap a sticker on a flimsy card and call it done.........Make sure your cards are sturdy, and are in a nice plastic sleeve to keep them clean. Don't forget to put your info on the back so your partner can know who to lavish with praise.....

I'll take newbies since everyone has to start somewhere, but please no recent 1's or 3's without an explanation. I would really like everyone who signs up to complete their swap---I don't know if I will be able to angel this if anyone flakes out.

I freaked out cos I didn't know what an ATC is - but now I know what it is - can I rejoin the swap?

My daughter just had a Geisha themed birthday party this year, so this will be a fun theme to do!

@Cyndimom -a geisha-themed birthday party?! Wow--how did that go? Sounds like it would have been very interesting.....and probably a good lesson in style, manners, poise, grace and and culture for girls....

It was unique-we had everything decorated in Japanese style-lamps, writing, umbrellas, dragons etc and everything was in red, gold and black. The girls came dresses as geishas. They made signs with Japanese writing, had Japanese food, and since geishas were performers, they had to do a game of charades so they could show off their performing skills. Then we had a professional face painter come and do flowers, and Japanese decorations and writing on the girls faces. My daughter says it was one of her favorite parties ever! She was also a geisha for Halloween-she thinks they are beautiful.

Well, @Cyndimom congrats to you! What a great idea, and what a way for those girls to learn about another culture!
