If you are interested in altering photos and making an artistic statement, there is another version here that involves mail: http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/80737 This is a photography swap and the idea is to find a way to make a statement with litter....and then clean it up of course. This is NOT about beautifying trash. This is about making art out of what is already there...then picking it up, of course. It can be on the side of the road, in a park, on a sidewalk, in a subway...anywhere. Everyone is welcome as long as profiles are filled out because this can be angeled easily and because people with ones and threes need second chances. MOST OF ALL...it's because everyone, regardless of rating can make the world beautiful! Go for a walk and take a few pictures of litter. Pick up the litter and dispose of properly. Go home and use something to turn it into a pretty picture or statement. If you don't have editing software, Picnik.com is a free site that gives you tools to edit pics. It doesn't have to be a pure picture, you can add words or make a collage or whatever you feel like creating. Send two pictures (min) to three partners. Include a message about your walk or what struck you about the project or who you took with you to do the project. You don't have to clean the whole road, but every little bit helps. ABOVE ALL: Be safe. If your road is dangerous, go to a park. If you're in the city, do this with stuff you find on the sidewalk or in the subway! Also, be careful of glass or questionable items...for instance, I don't suggest handling diapers or syringes if you find any. Find another way to scoop them up or notify someone who has the proper tools. Let's make the world pretty! |
