christmas (fun) time matchbox swap

I am so excited that there are 19 people signed up!

(Once it gets closer to the deadline, I am going to make this swap of the week on the blog. It is a bit of a conflict of interests, but I want a bunch of participants!)

Rachel ~ you are so sweet..."conflict of interest". NO...it's your site and you should enjoy the perks of your hard work. Trust me...no one here minds at all. Now for my exciting news....

I used your template...several (read 10 attempts) times actually. I really had difficulty getting the bottom small enough to fit..but tonight I had SUCCESS!! I have 2 altered matchboxes that I will foist upon someone, but more importantly, I have the formula for making matchboxes!! I feel a real addiction coming on!! It is so much fun!! So, I am ready to go for this swap and will begin to practice tomorrow. That means my partner can expect at least 5 matchboxes (my insecurity will require several attempts, I am sure). Just what I needed...one more craft addiction!!!!!

I am sure your matchboxes are beautiful, VJP. It is true that you have to work with the template a bit to get it to work. When I finally figured it out I made cardboard version that I can just trace. It makes it easy. Mine still don't turn out totally perfect, but I think making them from scratch is fun.

I am so excited. I have never done matchbox projects before but can invision a hundred ways to do one. I love doing Christmas crafts. With the grandkids so far away and daughter too busy, I now have an excuse to be doing crafts for Christmas.I love swaps and Christmas and Crafts just make me happy. BassetMom10

Sent off my package and uploaded a pic, which I got wrong LOL! Sender isn't sarasassafras, that's who it's going to, I'm the sender. Duh!! Hope it gets there quick and you like it. I ended up making two 'cause I didn't like the way the first came out. But since I'd made the two, I thought I'd send 'em both. :)

For me it was the very first matchbox to make and send... so, just for any case, I put it into a bigger box (made of two bottoms of milk cartons.. should be sturdy), padded that box on both sides with chocolate to the height of box and put it all into bubble envelope! Now if it still gets crushed.. it will not be my fault. :(
