Not much time between last day to sign up and send date. The way it is set up people will start bugging you to assign partners right away.

You have several swaps that I would like to join but there isn't much time to find something appropriate between when partners are assigned and send-by date. I always look at my partner's profile and try to fit what I send to the likes listed. Unfortunately,I don't always have something on hand. So having a little time to find just the right thing goes a long way in making a good swap. JMHO, of course.

This is a great swap; I hope you do an international version as well :)

LINDA50 & charlottenc ... I gave a week. the signup date is 1/26 and the ship by date is 2/2. I thought a week was actually quite a long time. What would your suggestions be?

weeatcrayons 01/22/2011 #

Not a lot of people can get out to pick something out or make something and get to the post office in a week due to work, their families, etc. Normally 2-3 weeks is a good time for bigger swaps

I will leave this one a week as it has allready been set up that way, but in the future I will give longer. Thanks for the input everyone!

I am sort of new to Swap-bot so I hope this isn't a dumb question. Is this reusable bag a particular pattern or could I make a bag from canvas, t-shirt, cotton, etc.? Could it be a tote bag? I, too, would appreciate more time between assignment and mailing because I work 12-hour days-4 days a week. Doesn't give me much time to make the item and then get it in the mail. But I love your idea of swaping bags.

skippymom, generally a reusable bag is along the lines of something that people can take grocery shopping so that they do not need to use bags from the store. This being said, it needs to be strong enough to hold the weight of groceries. Other than that...you are free to use your imagination :)

Thanks, oneholypassion44! I found a pattern for a recycled cloth grocery bag that will fold up into it's own pocket. Looks easy to make and certainly practical to use. Thanks.
