Description:

This is the third in a series of alphabet zentangles - with a twist. You will be picking zentangle patterns that start with specific alphabet letters.

For example, in this third swap the requirements are that you use (at least) one pattern that starts with an "E" and (at least) one pattern that starts with a "F". The rest of the patterns used in your zentangle are up to you. I don't want to limit creativity -- I want to present a format that might encourage you to try new patterns. There are numerous zentangle websites and most list patterns alphabetically. Zentangle basics are described in detail at Zentangle.com and a nice alphabetical list of patterns is found at TanglePatterns.com

Your zentangle can be black and white or colored. The size can be a standard ATC (2.5" x 3.5") OR a standard zentangle square (3.5" x 3.5") When you sign up for the swap please state which size zentangle you prefer to receive from your partner.

I will be doing this swap monthly, if there is enough interest, and we will be basically doing two letters a month (with a couple groups of three letters if there are few patterns starting with those letter).

Please include a note with your zentangle telling what patterns you picked for the letters. You might say "I used Eyelets and Ribbon for the string" or "I filled in the right corner with Fescu". If it isn't easy to describe please do a simple sketch of the pattern in your note. Don't just list the patterns used -- be sure to ID them either descriptively or with a quick sketch. I'm hoping we all learn a new pattern or two in this swap.

Requirements:

1 Zentangle for 1 partner

ATC sized OR 3.5 x 3.5" square

Must include one "E" pattern and one "F" pattern (and a note identifying the required patterns used)

Please use appropriately sturdy paper.

Rating of 4.9+, no 1s or 3s in the last six months (and then with explanation)

Flaking will not be tolerated.

If you have any questions or concerns please email me.

I'd prefer 3.5 inch, thank you!!

I'm really looking forward to the other swaps in this series, and I have a suggestion: instead of requiring people to use at least one E and F pattern, what about requiring people to use only E and F patterns? It would be a nice challenge, I think. But it's just a suggestion; I think this is a great idea anyway and I hope to join them all :)

Well, truthfully, most of the ATCs and zentangles I have seen from this swap have used exclusively the letters for that swap. So I think most artists are automatically leaning that way. But I don't want to control the zentangle too much by making that an absolute requirement. (And for this month it would be easy to use all "F" designs -- there are a ton of them out there. It is the "E" that will be tricky)

I'm glad to see so much particpation by so many wonderful artists. I will host a couple of make-up swaps before the series ends so that late comers can get the entire alphabet set.

No preference but prefer black and white (shading is fine).

Prefer square, but don't mind ATC if it works better.
