AUG: a fairy tale matchbook

Swap description: A fairy tale matchbook
Traditional matchbooks contained, well, matches. But in this modern day & age of re-purposing & creative re-interpretation, the matchbook is frequently found to encase anything from a notebook to a packet of seeds to a humbug. It's a versatile format!

For this swap, you will design a matchbook for your partners. The form of content is entirely up to you, but the theme must be fairy tale (either inspired by a traditional fairy tale, or an element therefrom). The following is a list of suggestions which is by no means all-encompassing but may give you some ideas of what your matchbook could include:

• a product featured in/inspired by a fairy tale (e.g. magic beans, gingerbread man recipe, sewing kit), and/or instructions for use of enchanted item
• swatches for Cinderella's gown
• advertising coupons
• fairy godmother wish-book
• a zine/comic/flip book/story
• ex libris bookplates
• artistamps
• you get the idea – anything goes, so long as it's creatively presented/conceived

• a basic matchbook notepad tutorial
• paint chip notebooks
• tear-off business cards
• mini calendars
• Valentine coupon book
• plant seed favours
• candy packaging
• needle book (and a slightly simpler version)

swap requirements

• 2 partners = 2 matchbooks sent & 2 matchbooks received
• Include a copy of or link to your chosen fairy tale
• The format of your item must be matchbook-style, handmade/decorated by you (using any technique/media). Contents may be handmade or storebought.
• The size of your item should be no smaller than 2.5” square. It may, however, be larger. Alternatively, if you would prefer to work on a smaller scale (a more traditional matchbook size), you may send your partner a couple of smaller matchbooks with a total size equal to or greater than the size stipulated above.
• Send on time!

The obvious bit
As well as meeting requirements as outlined on group homepage participants must have no late swaps on their dashboard, no 3 ratings in the last 3 months, and no 1 ratings in the last 12 months. I will check before assigning partners, so please contact me if you are concerned. I will take extenuating circumstances into account, but the happy swapping of the majority is the most important factor.
