Description:

i would like to give credit to zerofantasties for letting me do a swap like this. Do you love to cook and bake, experiment with recipes and flavors? Then join this journal swap for chefs!

You can use something like a composition notebook, sketchbook or even 3 ring binders and add pages to it. The exterior of the journal should be decorated, even just a little bit. You don't have to go all out, just something more than sticking your name on there.

You will fill it with minimum 30 recipes. Make it a mix of cooking and baking. Most should be something you have to cook or bake but you can add couple of no cook recipes.

For each of the 30 recipes in the journal, it will have to be something you have cooked or baked. Along with the recipe, please write down any changes you've made and how you think it effected the final result. Along with that, you will also write about how you liked or disliked it, describe the dish and also tell us about any decoration you have might have used.

Basically, use a recipe and write a review. A good way to look at it is to pretend you're on Food Network and you're hosting your own show!

Don't let each page be just words. Be creative! Attach a photo, decorate the page, glue on a recipe card, anything you want! Again, like the exterior, you don't have to go all out but it should be more than just a boring, white paper.

Due to the nature of the swap, it'll be very time consuming and quite a bit of work. So naturally, I'll be strict on who can join. You must have 4.95 ratings with no 3 or 1 in last 6 months. You will need minimum 25 rated type 3 swaps. If you have some special circumstance, please PM me and we will discuss it. I will personally angel or find one for you in case you get flaked.

Since most people cook at least once a week, I will give everyone 3 months to complete the journal. But you don't have to wait to start it! You can easily start as soon as you join.

If you have any questions, please comment here or PM me. Happy cooking & baking!

This is a GREAT idea but two months is a really long time between the sign-up and send-by dates. That's a lot of time for people to flake, lose interest, leave swap-bot, or whatever.

Why not put both the sign-up AND send-by dates at the end of the summer? Since it's not a profile based swap, there's no reason people can't get their journals finished and then just send them. Of course, it's just a suggestion :)

Thanks for hosting such an awesome swap!

i would love to join this swap but i think you should have longer than a month to send it out i don't always make something new everyday and have the time to sit down and decorate pages as well everyday

Am I insane, or was the send by date on this swap September 15th? When/why did it change?

gusmom2000 09/ 6/2011 #

Well, I found more notes, and I can see that the date didn't change and I apologize for thinking it did. My journal is nearly finished, and I will get it out to @rabu as soon as I can.
