Kawaii in August *edited*

oh sad. i want to join but my rating is tainted from something stupid over a year ago...

I thought groups were pre-vetted and not subject to these kind of rating restrictions. Any member of the group should be allowed to join a group swap. It's what groups are for.

@sebastian122 didn't you have a problem with a kawaii memo sheets swap a while back? higher rated/more responsible swappers back then would have helped with that one.

not all groups are thoroughly vetted. some never get done. I have been flaked on in group swaps and not rated for group swaps, where I should have been safe from that if the groups had been vetted properly. .

as a responsible host, I should be able to have rating restrictions to help protect those who take part. but I have altered the rating restriction for this swap against my better judgement so that it complies with group membership rating rules.

If you choose not to join in as you don't like the fact I will remove questionable swappers, then that's your choice.

I've had problems with more than a dozen kawaii memo swaps, and all of them were public swaps. Group swaps are, by their nature, considered 'safer' which is why I said something.

I appreciate you editing the swap to allow a very good swapper to join should she want. Frankly, I have no desire to join, I was merely shopping for swaps when I happened by.

And finally, I don't disagree with your right as hostess to restrict the members you allow into your swap, I'm simply pointing out that within a group the rules should be different. I own a few groups of my own and would never consider a swap that precludes members. If the shoe were on the other foot, I'd leave the group. Either I'm welcome as I am, or I'm gone.

@sebastian122 - I'm sorry if I came off on the offensive, but having been stung by group swaps, I was quite happy to come host here when I was told I could set my own standards for a swap.... then afterwards I felt like I was being criticised for it. I know that may have not been your intention, but it's how I felt. I know you are a good and responsible swapper and I don't want to be on your bad side.

I can understand with this swap since some of the items going up in price. the exchange rate has changed dramatically since the earthquake and I even have to pay more where Kawaii is a short trip downtown San x keychains that were 7 dollars last year are now14 I don't think kittenred meant to offend anybody . I have seen the same requirements in other groups lately with expensive swaps lately since money is so tight with most of us
