Description:

This is a follow up to my Free Knitting Pattern swap. This time you will send a pattern AND the yarn needed to create it! In the comment section below please list any allergies you may have and your knitting skill level as follows:

Beginner - I can knit a scarf

Adv. Beginner - I can knit easy pattern stitches

Intermediate - I can knit a sweater or sock

Skilled - BRING IT ON! I can knit ANYTHING!

You should pick a free pattern that matches your partner's skill level. It should be a pattern that the sender likes. If you want hearts then check their profile and see what they like to knit and what kind of yarn they like and send somthing that they would love. Another way to earn hearts would be to add knitting supplies they need to do the project, but this is JUST FOR HEARTS!

Please be sure to send enough yarn (and please, let us each send nice yarn!) and the right kind of yarn to complete the project. If you are sending a pattern that needs a size please email your partner and ask which size they prefer! Unless your partner is a beginner, let's stay away from scarf patterns.

This swap is USA and Canada only due to shipping. Participants must have a 4.7 or higher and no no sends in their history. Newbies are welcome as long as you message me. Please feel free to ask questions. I'm a pretty new coordinator and I love feedback!

I am an intermediate knitter. I love to knit socks if you're curious. I love alpaca yarn as well. I knit with deep, rich colors such as brown, blue, red, green and purple. For me, knitting is about the feel of the yarn in my hands as the stitches slip by!

5elementknitr 11/24/2007 #

I'm skilled - My profile has lots of yarn info on me....

Pegster527 11/24/2007 #

I am intermediate--well at least I have finished a sweater. But maybe advanced beginner is better for me. lol

hestiashearth 11/25/2007 #

I am intermediate. I have no fibre allergies (thank God!). I like a lot of different patterns, but I've only recently begun to do colour work.

As far as fibre that I like, I'm a sucker for alpaca or anything super soft. And my favourite colourways are blacks, greys, and browns.

Thanks in advance to my partner!

I am somewhere in between intermediate and skilled. I believe that I can create anything I set my mind to.

I am slightly allergic to mohair, but only in a sneezing way. Thus, I still use it from time to time, but only to knit items as gifts; I can't wear it since it makes me sneeze.

I like to make socks, but only if the yarn is very soft. If the yarn isn't soft enough, I can't wear the socks because they'll hurt my feet! My favorite things to knit are intricate scarves, fingerless gloves or mitts, sweaters, hats!, and I've recently begun to adore lace knitting (thanks to a Halloween Mystery Shawl pattern I'm working on).

My favorite colorways are blacks, grays, reds, blues, silvers, and purples.

I am an intermediate knitter who like any project that is fairly fast (socks, hats, scarves, purses, mittens, fingerless gloves, coffee cozies.) I love wool, but I am not against a decent acrylic!! Black, any shade of green, dark blues, most shades of brown.

I guess I would be an intermediate knitter. I make bags, socks, scarfs, and hope to start a sweater with a knit along group next year. I like small projects too. My favorite colors are purple and green, but any color is fine with me. As for the yarn, please make it something that feels good - other than that you choose!

I guess I'm inbetween an advanced beginner and skilled. I've done a couple of sweaters and I'm hoping, if Santa thinks I was good this year, that he'll leave me a gift certificate to my LYS so I can take a magic loop sock knitting class. I love soft yarns. I'm not a huge of the novelty yarns, just because I'm more of a practical knitter. As far as I know, I don't have any yarn allergies (thank goodness!)

brnwebgrrl 12/ 9/2007 #

I'm an advanced/skilled knitter with no known fiber allergies. I am a confirmed yarn snob who does not like novelty or acrylic yarn. I am a process knitter and my joy comes from finding just the right yarn and needles for the right pattern. My fiber/color preferences are in my profile.

Some projects that I enjoy are: socks, fingerless gloves, lace shawls, bags, and purses.

This sounds like a fun swap.

I think I am between Advanced and Skilled -- I have made most things, skirts, sweaters, scarves, lace, socks, cables, color work etc. I like most colors -- just not orange or anything neon:) And I have not a single fiber allergy.

knitterkim 12/17/2007 #

I am an advanced/skilled knitter. At the moment, I love making Latvian and Estonian style mittens.

I am allergic to angora (rabbit). I am a blatant fiber snob and do not work with novelty or acrylic yarns. Also, I can't work with cotton, bamboo or ingeo as I have chronic tendonitis and these yarns make my elbows, wrists and hands ache.

This sounds like a fun swap

darkpaintedrose 12/18/2007 #

Ooh! I forgot something. I prefer yarns that are superwash, and the only times I use non-superwash fibers are when I'm knitting something that I'm going to felt. So please, no non-superwash yarns unless you're sending me a pattern that is felted.

I do enjoy making felted bags/purses, too. I didn't include that in my previous comment.

Knitidiot 12/21/2007 #

I guess I would be Intermediate knitter -- I have done 1 pair of socks and am planning on a sweater at the first of the year. I am ready to TRY anything, so bring it on!!!

Thanks!

Sorry I'm late with my comments!

I am a strong intermediate knitter, but I prefer small projects. I am a confirmed fiber snob and I do not work with acrylic or novelty yarns. I also cannot work with anything more than 5% mohair content or I will just itch my hands off.

I prefer small/quick projects. I do not need any straight needles. I would love to have a needle suitable for Magic Loop in size 1 or zero.

More detail about my color/fiber preferences can be found in my profile.

buslady 01/ 4/2008 #

I am sorry to be so late with this, but I am an intermediate knitter. I like all kinds of natural fiber yarns.

kgeslab 01/ 7/2008 #

brnwebgrl, your package is on the way. Enjoy!

meggle 01/ 8/2008 #

I'm totally late on leaving this, I swear I left one, buy apparently I've lost my mind.

anyway, I am an intermediate knitter. I would say experienced, but I'll never be able to do color work. I love bright earth tones, like greens and blues. I also love pink. I pretty much like saturated color, but I do look terrible in purple.

helenkosings 01/22/2008 #

Whoops! Forgot to write in my skill level - skilled. I prefer wool, but I'm not a complete snob. I prefer jewel tones.

knittingbee 09/16/2008 #

I have been knitting for years but unfortunately recently during house renovations my collection of patterns were thrown out. I love aran knits, also any baby knits but would accept anything that is on offer. Many thanks.
