Description:

The holidays are a time for EATING (well, and family, giving, celebration, etc... but of course we all know it's really about food, heehee).

And I don't know about you, but one of my favorite things to eat during the holidays is chocolate!

For this swap you will have only 1 partner and you will spoil him or her with as many things chocolate as you can. Lets think quality instead of quantity though. I think most people would like to have 2 or 3 nice chocolatey things instead of a box full of cheap Santa 'eggs'. Lets aim for Hearts on this.

Try to spend at least $10 (before shipping) and of course you can go crazy and spend more than that!

There are many different directions you can go in - chocolate bars, cocoa, cookies, biscotti... and you can chose from - white, dark or milk chocolate.

Please only sign up if you fully intend to send a nice package to your partner. If you have any 'no sends' you will be removed before partners are assigned. Only those with 4.7 or higher ratings please.

List any allergies in the comments section. When you send your package and when you receive your package please post in the comments section - that way everyone will know what's going on.

When you get your package - if your partner has kept to these guidelines then please remember to rate them with a '5'. If you got your package but it was terribly lacking then a '3' would be appropriate. And of course if you didn't receive anything (PLEASE DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN) then first message them to see if maybe it just got lost in the mail, if they turn out to be a flaker then sadly you'd leave them a '1'.

Any questions please comment below!

This is International, I have another one up for US Only -

Can I join in this swap?

I see that this is international (hooray) but our packages may not arrive in time for Christmas/New Year. Can we see it as a "cheer up" package for the January/February gloom as well?

jeanland 11/29/2007 #

saranyamc ~ I've sent you a private message reguarding your request to join this swap. :)

jeanland 11/29/2007 #

lulu ~ I think the packages might have time to arrive by Christmas... but if they get to their destination a few days after Christmas I agree with you, it would make a nice 'after Christmas pick-me-up'. :) If everyone sends their packages by Airmail I think it should be enough time though. And I plan on sending mine early, before the deadline, so I think my partner will get it in time. :)

I just want to say that I like every kind of chocolate except for the white one!

Just a random question....I know it's summer in the Southern hemisphere. I don't mind sending chocolates to anyone anywhere, but I know my favorite chocolatier won't send any "real" chocolate truffles etc. during the summer months. Will that mess anyone up, or should I just be more creative and send cookies, etc?

Josietai 12/ 3/2007 #

I'm from Malaysia and I'll gladly sent Asian chocolates and Porky!

jeanland 12/ 4/2007 #

Katyushka ~ Creative is good :) I hope everyone will be a little creative anyway and mix things up a bit... there are so many different delicious chocolatey things out there to explore! :) As for those that live in a warm climate... maybe send a message to your partner and see what they think. :) I hope everyone has fun with this swap!

Great write up of guidelines for the swap:) Tired of receiving junky stuff for swaps. Thanks for hosting swaps for the chocoholics at swap-bot! To my partner, not too keen on biscotti or dark chocolate. Thanks. Happy chocolate hunting to all this holiday season! Chris

jeanland 12/ 4/2007 #

Thank you Chris! :) I'm distressed over received less than adequate items from swappers too. I figured that with more guidelines that hopefully won't happen to anyone. :)

I am allergic to all nuts except peanuts & cashews. I'm not very fond of fruit in my chocolate. But I love white, dark & milk chocolate! I'd love to be surprised by anything chocolaty, I'm not very picky. :)

Nostalgia 12/ 4/2007 #
