My Little India Box

This is a simple yet very meaningful swap, quite like Indian philosophy! Here are the steps!

1. One partner.

2.Find or construct a small box (cardboard, wood, plastic,etc) with some type of lid, be it lift off or flip top. Size doesn't matter, as long as you can fit the designated contents inside. Maybe you have a cardboard jewelry box you could embellish, an empty tea box, an altoid tin, an origami box you made from cardstock...you get it. Basically, if it's size of your hand or smaller. Decorate it if it's not cute.

3.Fit 4 items, that remind you of India, in the box. These items must be on hand, used, recycled (or made from stuff), found around your dwelling, and NOT newly purchased. The point is to discover the inspiration of India around you and share with your partner.

Here are some ideas: *anything w/ image of marigold or lotus *dry flower petals *mirror or metallic embellishment * Anything with a paisley, ohm *Metallic Strings/yarns *Bold colored swatch of silk *Something Gold Color Accented *Animal Figures such as elephant (symbol of cosmic reality!), monkey, cow, bird, snake, tiger, lion , horse *Intricate designed or stamped images *Bold Colored or Gold Tone Beads *Bold Colored or Gold Tone Fibers *Bold Colored or Gold Tone Buttons *Tea *Tassle *atc *Fancy hair pin, charm *Cowrie or conch shell (or anything with image) *Parchesi or chess piece *Pretty marbles *Anything brass *Piece of incense stick or cone *tea light candle *stick on jewels *Image of wheel (The wheel represents the Dharma Chakra)

4.Write a memo to your partner about why you chose each item.
