Off to Hogwarts!

Cute idea, but I think I'm just going to watch for now. $20 is a lot if you also think spending $20 will probably also involve spending at least $10 in shipping and its such a short amount of time having only a week to get everything and send it out. No everyone gets paid every week, so I may not be able to join. If you happen to do anything else to where its mostly hand made, I'm in. I can easily hand make some picture books and make a wand and probably find an owl, but I'll be honest, i probably won't spend more that $5-10 since it would be hand made for the most part and I don't want my partner being disappointed. Ill keep and eye out for more harry potter swaps though!

and ps I agree with salex... I think I would want to hand-make everything, and it would take some time. Just buying the crap that's out there to buy is kind of pointless, because we can all do that ourselves! I would love the same thing but all or mostly hand-made. I would like making one of the books, for instance, a wand, an owl collage or stuffie, sorting hat, etc. I would like a trade where we each have one item to make per year, so a whole series of them! Great idea though, I love these books and movies.

I love the idea of a harry potter swap! But this is super expensive for me cause I am a college student! If you decide to do some cheaper, craft harry potter swaps I would be very interested. Maybe a hp themed ATC swap, or inchies, or handmade cards?

This is great but I see plenty of things on that list that I can buy two of for less than $20, WAY less, besides handmaking some of them with things I already own. Thought the "cost" of the handmade items would be $0 for me, could their "worth" be considered? I hope that makes sense. Its just that I can make and create a lot of items from all the stuff I currently have. Or with buying very little.

For example I can buy a cute mini owl on a clip at Michael's $4, I can easily handmade a feather pen, $0, I have parchment paper $0, I can make a wand using materials I already have $0, loose tea and a small teacup $0, I can handmade a tiny book of spells/potions/divination etc. $0,

I'd love to do this but I don't want to be accused of not spending $20 because I handmade everything even though the worth of handmade items might be $20 or greater. I hope I am making sense lol

Let us know if you decide to do a handmade Harry Potter type swap, because i agree with most of the people that commented here already. I think it would be so much fun if you did something like that! Keep us updated! :)

@BambooPanda13 Considering worth is completely fine! I understand if you already own most of the things to create! I'm in the same boat.

I will be changing the price of the swap to 10-15 dollars (in worth), not in actual spent, and I will make the send time a little later.

I will NOT be making it only craft, just in case some people who are less crafty want to join, but I will leave it open to craft or purchase.

@Salex I understand money is tight. It's tight on my end too and I don't get paid every week either.

I am making the send by date a solid 2 weeks after enrollment. Obviously you can send early, but I want everyone to have enough time to get their creative on! :)

Hi! I have a suggestion: what if participants post their favorite house? (I know we wouldn't know that before our first year in Hogwarts, but I think it's easier to make beautiful things if you can add the colors of the house :D). Mine is Slytherin!

Hi @theroyalbard ! It's totally fine if participants want to post their favorite houses, but in the end, it's senders choice. If you want to cater to your partner, that's awesome! If you want to make a different swap with that, you are more than welcome! And your English is fine! :)

This is nice swap idea! I have to handmade something maybe a course book? I've never tried but i want to make it! And is it okay to send small owl or cat? Should they be soft plushes? If i can't find them i just want to send small animals maybe made by wood? :)
