Theme: Elements of Art

You may choose to have you class highlight any, or many of the Elements of Art ( Texture, Form, Space, Line, Shape, Color and/ or Value).

Paper and Size: All cards must be on a sturdy substrate (paper, cardboard, metal, plastic…). The cards must all be 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches or 64 X 89 mm.

Medium: You may use any medium that you would like. Just keep in mind that students might be placing them into their ATC sheets so mediums that smudge are not recommended.

Classroom information: Your classroom will create 100 ATC. You may have about 100 students or you may ask students to create more then one card to send. Your students must be Middle School ages (12 to 18 years old). You will be trading with only one school for this trade. Instruct students to write the following on the back of EACH card…

Name Title State/Country Date

You do not have to be rated however I would encourage you to have participated in at least one trade on swap-bot. There is an Art Teacher trade available on the Classroom ATC group page. I don't have a requirement for a rating but I would GREATLY encourage no flakers. You are not just letting down another person, you would be letting down an entire class.

Student first name only? 12 to 18, so this is Middle School and High School? Hope so! I'd like to join!

Seriously considering....just want to get a feel of my students before I commit :-)

This looks like so much fun. I am happy that it is way in the future, so we have plenty of time to execute.

Do we have anyone from outside the US trading?

I teach 300 students, 6th, 7th and 8th grade, and wanted to trade with each class...is there anyway to do that through this group?

That would be 10 classes.

Rainedawn, how many cards total do you think you will end up with?

Nic and I have been tossing around a "stacking" idea that will allow smaller and larger classrooms/school bigger numbers on a trade using multiple trades in future swaps.

We finished our 100 ATCs today! I can hardly wait until partners are assigned.

Has anyone ended up with more than 100 cards? I have extra to swap "offline" if needed. I don't think they are in even hundreds though. I estimate around 75.

rainedawn 10/ 3/2011 #

I can have an extra 75 to send you :)

rainedawn… I'll see what I can do but I have two trades of 100 on my list. If I could have extended time I bet I could get you 75 more cards… email me. Nicholechahn@yahoo.com

Rainedawn and ccoyne are going exchange our extra 75.
Rainedawn, what do you have left to swap? Our MS is doing animation this term so we won't be making cards again until November. If you still need Elements of Art swap then, we could figure something out.

I have about 125 left to swap. I did it with all 300 students and I didnt even think about how many we should be making! lol. Its just so much fun and they all love it!! They created cards based off the Elements of Art and themselves. So each card represents something about the artist and the elements. So the cards we swap could be either or really anything. They're just all excited about recieving cards from different places! :)
