6 June 2022: On Friday, June 3rd, I received a positive COVID test. Ugh. I am trying really hard to keep up to date on swaps but its really hard for me to get to the mailbox right now. I have written some postcards but hadn’t made it down to send them yet. I am marking them sent the day they actually get to the mailbox. If there are any problems with swaps, PLEASE let me know.
At the same time, a couple weeks ago I think we got a new mail carrier because there are a lot of new problems in my area. That week we had multiple days where the carrier either completely skipped our house or days where he dropped off mail but didn’t pick up the mail (and yes, I have proof that the mailbox flag was up so I have no idea what is happening). Our mail has also been getting mixed up all over the street and not making it to the correct house even though the house number are very clearly marked. Mail used to come very late in the day but now it is not coming at a consistent time. I mark the mail sent the day I deliver it to the mailbox but the mailman may have come that day, they may ignore the mail to be picked up or whatever other problems that are completely out of my control in regards to the postmark date matching the sent date. I have also sent AND received postcards that aren’t even postmarked in the city they are sen’t from. Therefore, I personally don’t believe that postmark dates should be used when rating swaps.
As of June 6, 2022 I am taking photos of all of my mail swaps once they are stamped and addressed for proof that they were sent. That being said, if I do not receive your swap and you are able to send me proof of the mail with my correct address and correct postage I will still rate you a 5 because it is not your fault that the post office makes mistakes and loses mail.
Please message me if you are missing a swap from me before rating a 1 or 3. Thank you! I have 3 unsent swaps from when I was not able to access my swap-bot account due to extenuating home life circumstances. Out of the 3, 2 are no longer active users.
I've seen this on other accounts so I'm going to say the same thing here: PLEASE reach out to me if you do not receive from me before rating low so that we can resolve the situation and I will extend the same courtesy. Thank you in advance!!!
Hello! My name is Elizabeth, and I am 24 years old. I married my high school sweetheart in 2018 and I am so grateful to have him in my life. I am living in Colorado currently, but I come from a military family so we moved around pretty frequently. I joined Swap-Bot thanks to the Postcrossing community. I joined postcrossing in 2019 and it brings me so much joy.
I love being around animals, but I am allergic to most of them. I would love to make new friends, but what I love most about swapping is sending and receiving happy mail. It just makes my day when someone loves what I've been able to send them.
Some of my hobbies include:
-Art (I’m currently focusing on gouache)
-Photography
-Archery
-Baking
-Postcrossing (of course)
-Geocaching
-Hiking
-Diamond Painting
Thank you for reading this far. I am the proud big sister to one amazing 10 year old. She just LOVES getting mail, so I created a Postcrossing account for her where I send postcards, and she gets them back in her name. If you are able to, please send any extras (stickers, washi, sticky notes, etc.), a blank or written postcard, or anything else you can think of. Feel free to write a note saying those items are for 123 Love Kitties, or just Kitty (her alias). We don't live together, so when I gather enough postcards and goodies, I mail them in one large envelope for her. I wish I could describe how happy she gets. Anyways, if you are able to share anything with her, I know she will love it. Thank you for reading.
Here is my postcard wishlist, but please note that I am happy to receive anything from you.
Homemade postcards are okay, I just prefer that it be an artistic postcard and not recycled/upcycled cards. Thank you.
Envelopes are also okay.
Postcards can be written and stamped, or blank in envelope (regardless of swap requirements, I will not fault you for choosing to send in an envelope.)
